Omron adds two new MOSFET relays


High dielectric strength, high temperature MOSFET Relay and highly responsive miniature MOSFET Relay introduced by Omron


Omron Electronic Components Europe has expanded its extensive range of MOSFET relays with two new devices. The new Omron G3VM-401 and G3VM-601 offer high dielectric strength and high operating temperatures for applications in electric meters and industrial control. The new G3VM-41UR pot is a highly responsive device offering low on-resistance and output capacitance in ultra-compact VSON packaging, aimed at test and measurement applications especially ATE.


Operating temperatures can be a particular challenge for designers of electricity meters as these units have to be sealed to prevent tampering. The new Omron G3VM-401 and G3VM-601 devices address this issue as they can withstand ambient temperatures of up to 110°C. They also offer a high dielectric strength of 5,000V rms AC. The devices are offered in both surface mount and through hole form, with SPST-NO contacts. They are power efficient, with a low trigger current of just 2mA. The G3VM-401 can handle a load current of up to 400V at 120mA and the G3VM-601 can handle up to 600V at 90mA. The new G3VM-41UR features a low CxR of just 10pF*Ω and can handle currents of up to 40V at 0.25A – exceptional for a device of this size. It is an excellent compact alternative to SOP4 package devices and reed relays. It’s low on resistance of just 2 ohms and low output capacitance of just 5pF make it ideal for switching test signals in ATE systems, as well as for other test and measurement and communications equipment applications.

Smiths Interconnect expands into burn-in test market with acquisition of Plastronics


Smiths Interconnect, a division of Smiths Group plc, announces that it has completed the acquisition of Plastronics Sockets & Connectors (“Plastronics”), a leading supplier of burn-in test sockets and patented spring probe contacts for the semiconductor test market segment, as well as custom connectors for industrial applications.

Fast & Accurate Temperature Monitoring with ATC Semitec’s Inline In-flow Coolant Temperature Sensors


The TKS inline coolant sensors, from ATC Semitec, offer a neat temperature monitoring solution for cooling systems in the e-vehicle/ automotive industry. This temperature sensor is sealed directly into the pipe assembly providing both ease of installation and accurate temperature monitoring. Liquid cooling systems in EVs play an important role in optimising the performance of batteries and powertrains. Therefore accurate temperature monitoring of the fluid in the coolant loop helps the thermal management system maintain the optimal operation of batteries and other components. Installed within the inlet or the outlet hoses, this sensor directly, quickly and accurately measures the temperature of the


coolant as it flows past its sensing tip - providing a rapid response (Tc ≤ 15s) with a ±1% accuracy NTC thermistor as standard. They have a general operating range of -40°C to 125°C. Alternatives such as clip-on sensors measure temperatures indirectly and therefore may not be as responsive or as accurate.

ROLEC’s Advanced HMI Enclosures For Machine Control Equipment


ROLEC’s advanced HMI enclosures now include multiPANEL, profiPANEL and profiPANEL STANDARD – giving industrial electronics designers more choice.


Elegant multiPANEL is best suited to small-volume applications requiring advanced functionality and cutting-edge aesthetics. Versatile profiPANEL is for higher-volume applications, notably machine building.


Both models enable virtually borderless, flush-fit installation of a front plate or glass. They are manufactured from aluminium profiles, enabling the specification of custom sizes from 150 x 150 mm to 800 x 800 mm.


Smart, modern multiPANEL (IP 65) is available in depths of 70 mm and 85 mm, each in three variants offering either a bolted rear wall, a hinged and bolted rear door, or a hinged and lockable rear door. The front plate is connected permanently to the main body. Features include decorative stainless steel inlays. The main case and rear wall/doors are black (RAL 9005).


Anodised silver profiPANEL (IP 65) enclosures offer greater depth capacity (eight depths from 60 mm to 300 mm). There is one option for the rear: a hinged, lockable door. A 200 mm high keyboard desk unit (60mm or 90 mm deep) is also available as standard. Both the main case and desk unit feature light grey plastic corner trims.


A more economical option is the 90 mm deep profiPANEL STANDARD (IP 65) – available in four standard plan sizes from 400 x 400 mm to 600 x 520 mm for 10” to 21” screens. Always-in-stock components enable shorter delivery times.


Accessories for multiPANEL include: keyboard and mouse trays, handles and wall connectors. For


profiPANEL: as above but also a mounting bracket set and traffic red (RAL 3020), traffic blue (RAL 5017) or jet black (RAL 9005) corner covers. For profiPANEL STANDARD: wall connectors, handles, mounting bracket set, and the red, blue or black corner covers.


ROLEC recommends mounting the enclosures on its profiPLUS 50 or taraSMART suspension arms. It can supply the enclosures and arms full customised. Services include CNC machining, custom colours, engraving, laser processing, printing, and assembly/installation of accessories.
