ntel continues to expand its RealSense product line with the D457 depth camera. A GMSL/FAKRA interface enhances RealSense capabilities. This lowers both power consumption and ESD/ EMI noise, and reduces latency. In addition, it allows for longer cable length compared to USB and higher bandwidth compared to Ethernet. According to Rutronik, it is currently the only stereo camera with these specifications, making it optimal for applications where large amounts of image or video data must be transmitted over long distances. Intel RealSense products and the D457 camera are available at

primarily focused on the automotive sector. Using a single coaxial cable up to 15 metres in length, GMSL supports multi- stream applications. In combination with the safe FAKRA connector and the GMSL high performance protocol, robotics and warehouse applications can be implemented. Using an integrated IMU, the depth
perception of an application is refined, improving, for example, the interaction of robotic applications or drones with their environment.
The IP65 housing protects the depth
camera from dust and splash water ingress. This makes it suitable for use in demanding industrial environments.

istrelec, the European distributor of electronics and electronic components, is boosting its Swiss credentials by adding to its vast
product portfolio two top-quality brands from highly respected manufacturers in Switzerland. Distrelec is now handling sensors and automation solutions from Endress+Hauser, a Swiss-based process and laboratory instrumentation and automation supplier. Distrelec is also offering the entire portfolio of storage and security solutions from Swissbit, enabling users to store and protect data safely in industrial, NetCom, automotive, medical and fiscal applications as well as the Internet of Things (IoT).
Distrelec recently launched an initial range of 100 Endress+Hauser products, with further additions to follow in 2023. Of particular note is the Picomag series of flow sensors for non-hazardous areas which offer empty pipe detection and wireless remote access via Bluetooth. With a 1.4” TFT colour display, IO-Link and various inputs/outputs for all line sizes, the Picomag series includes such products as the DMA20-AAABA1 electromagnetic flow sensor which has minimum and maximum flow rates of between 0.1L/min and 75L/min. Measuring just 130mm x 100mm x 70mm, this sensor also offers maximum operating pressure of
16bar and min/max operating temperatures of -10oC/+70oC.
With increasing numbers of IoT devices in operation, security against data transfer interception and control systems hacking is more vital than ever. Swissbit goes beyond
smart card chips technology or secured CPUs to deliver security solutions based on exchangeable hardware cryptography and standard interfaces. Swissbit’s easy-to- integrate and retrofittable hardware-based security products combine smart card functionality with NAND flash storage while systems with SD card, micro-SD card or USB interface can easily be updated to the protection level of a smart card chip. Swissbit’s storage range includes SSDs with PCIe and SATA interface as well as Memory Cards with several form factors, USB flash drives, and managed NAND BGAs like
e.MMC.

arnell has announced the availability of the latest, highly optimised silicon carbide (SiC) EliteSiC products for energy infrastructure solutions from onsemi. These new devices meet next-generation performance requirements thanks to their reduced switching losses under real-world conditions when compared to their competitors. The accelerating transition to
decarbonisation is shifting demand toward the installation of more energy infrastructure systems featuring DC fast chargers (DCFC), solar inverters and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

stages is critical in reducing power losses, increasing power density and reducing cooling costs. Selecting highly robust SiC power devices built with infrastructure-class reliability in mind is a key part of designing long lasting, rugged energy infrastructure systems. onsemi products can shorten development times while exceeding power density norms and reducing power loss. Typical applications for onsemi EliteSiC devices, now available from Farnell, include UPS, DC/DC converters, boost inverters, solar inverters, electric vehicle charging stations and industrial power systems. These devices are Pb−free, halide free and RoHS compliant.
