Smiths Interconnect announces the release of its Lab-Flex T Series of flexible coaxial cable assemblies. The T cable assemblies are mechanically robust and specifically designed to minimise phase change when subjected to a wide range of operational temperatures.

ROLEC has launched technoDISC – a unique round plastic enclosure for industrial electronics. It is based on the firm’s successful aluDISC diecast aluminium housings.


The new technoDISC cases are UV-stable and sealed to IP 66 (IP 67 optional), making them ideal for Industry 4.0 and IoT applications both indoors and outside. The round design integrates visually when used in applications such as industrial pipework, shipboard equipment, vehicles etc.


These ‘go anywhere’ enclosures can be fitted to walls, bulkheads, machines – even when closed (protecting the seal and electronics during installation). Clip-on POM (polyoxymethylene) trims cover all the fixing and mounting screws.


New technoDISC’s smart design was inspired by the shape of a wristwatch, combining round aesthetics with flat surfaces to enable the mounting of cable glands and controls. The lid is recessed to accommodate a round membrane keypad or product label.


Inside the lid and base, there are fastening domes for self-tapping screws for the installation of PCBs and mounting plates.


The enclosures are available in four highly useful sizes from 110 x 97 x 55 mm to 190 x 179 x 90 mm, delivering optimum internal space for mounting a wide variety of electronic and electrical components. The top and base are moulded in UV-stable and flame-retardant Luran ASA (UL 94 V-0). The standard colour is light grey, similar to RAL 7035. The POM clip-on covers are anthracite grey, RAL 7016.


Prices for technoDISC start at £36. Options and accessories include EMC shielding, mounting plates and supporting rails for terminals.


ROLEC also offers a full customising service with CNC machining, bespoke colours, printing and engraving of legends and logos, membrane keypads and full assembly.

Powersolve’s ESB-101 is a low-cost peak inrush current limiter designed for capacitive loads in a variety of applications. These include installations across complex automation systems and machinery as well as LED lighting.


It is fitted with an internal temperature fuse to prevent overheating should the bypass circuit fail and is designed to provide high reliability and maintenance-free operation.


The ESB-101 is available in either 115VAC or 230VAC versions and limits power-up currents and provides continuous operation up to 48A depending on the model selected. The ESB- 101 has an inrush limiting time as low as 300ms, a capacitive load range of 1000µF to 10,000µF and an operating temperature range of -40 to +70ºC. It can be wall or 35mm DIN Rail mounted, accepts 26 to 10 AWG wire with screw terminals and is comes in an IP20 rated housing.
