Spotlight On A spotlight on

Diamond Point International

This month, the CIE spotlight shines on Martin Frederiksen, managing director Diamond Point International as we look at his career through the electronics industry and his current role with Diamond Point International

M

artin Frederiksen started his career in 1997 at the Danish company INSIDE Technology A/S and was

responsible for the Nordic Market. INSIDE technology actually signed up Diamond Point in the first three years of Martin working there. The company was then acquired by JUMPtec in 1999. During this period Martin took a sabbatical to Chile for a year, got married, and upon his return, he was in charge of the Iberia and BeNeLux regions. In 2002 Kontron acquired JUMPtec and Martin was asked to move to Belgium to be the sales manager of the BeNeLux region. He returned to Denmark in 2006 and

was in charge of the Nordic region again working with customers like ABB,

Nokia, Bombardier and GE Heatlhcare. He was also in charge of the distribution business and signed up Recab in 2006. In 2012 Martin was asked to move to the UK and take charge of Northern Europe. After 18 years of service he made the decision to start a new venture.

Martin joined Congatec as sales

director for Northern Europe. At this time Diamond Point and Recab were open to start cooperation with Congatec. In August he joined Diamond Point as managing director after the company was acquired by ADDtech. The plan is to join another ADDtech company Recab together with Diamond Point and use Diamond Point as a foothold into the UK.

Diamond Point's core philosophy is to concentrate on established standards

rather than expending energy on new standards that may not be adopted. We were one of the first to understand the significance of the PC/104 standard and this has been widely used by customers from doing their own designs to using COTS. We also followed the natural path from PC/104, through ETX, to
