New 3x5in 450W PSUs from FiDUS Power can run in Silent Mode

Highest power density for convection/conduction cooled medical PSUs

FiDUS Power, the technical power supply distributor specialising in innovative solutions and new products that benefit system designers as they seek to differentiate their end products, has launched a new series of rugged, robust 450W AC/DC power supplies in the miniature 3” x 5" footprint. The use of high- performance components and a reinforced double I/O isolation system suit the supplies for both industrial and medical applications.

With an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (with derating), the new supplies suit space- restricted, thermally-challenging industrial applications, and medical environments where audible fan noise must be avoided. Earth leakage current is below 100 A which suits the units for BF (body floating) applications.

The new PSUs feature efficiency levels of up to 94%. Other features include 5VDC standby output, , 12VDC aux output, Remote On/Off and Power Good Signal. Open frame, enclosed, end fan and top fan versions are available. They are very flexible offering a wide range of 7 different output voltages from 12 to 53VDC and a +/-8% output adjustment. Units are certified to IEC/EN/ES 60601-1 3rd edition for 2xMOPP and IEC/EN/UL 62368-1, and pass EMC compliance regulations to IEC/EN/ES 60601-2 4th edition.

As with most FiDUS power supplies, free engineering samples can be delivered from stock on short lead-times, and all models are backed by the company’s 5-year warranty.

www.fiduspower.com New products from Selwyn Electronics

As the UK distributor for ODU connectors and cable assemblies, Selwyn Electronics are pleased to announce that ODU are releasing some interesting new products:

Panel mounted circular connectors that are IP68 rated when unmated. Providing ingress protection from water and dust which are constant challenges in demanding industrial and medical applications.

Hermetically sealed Mini Snap receptacles for use in applications where high-

pressure sealing is required. Hermetic sealing means equipment, rooms, production systems etc, are completely protected from the ingress of even the smallest contaminants on a molecular level

IEC 60601-1 compliant circular connectors to guarantee maximum protection for both patients and operators.

High voltage circular connectors capable of preventing “hot plugging” and enabling the reliable transmission of up to 1000V AC acc. To IEC60664

Sterilizable Medi Snap connectors using biocompatible materials that ensure maximum patient protection against skin and tissue irritations, autoclavability up to 134°C, Black and grey variants.

BLE Proximity Beacon - ultra-low power

Ultimate bench power supply New PWR-01 power supplies

Telonic Instruments announce the UK release of the new Kikusui PWR-01 series of wide-range benchtop programmable DC power supplies.

The PWR-01 series are versatile instruments with models offering 400W, 800W, and 1200W rated power output with maximum rated voltages up to 650V. Equipped with a 4-times voltage and current variable ratio, making this one of the most versatile range of DC power supplies on the market today, the PWR-01 provides flexible current and voltage for a variety of applications.

Variable internal impedance is a unique new feature that allows for various types of simulations suitable for automotive test and other battery-driven applications as well as solar-panel evaluation.

The PWR-01 is also equipped with a soft-start function that limits the inrush current, minimizing any harmful effects to DUTs such as DC motors. The power supplies are also equipped with ergonomic power setting knobs, allowing the operator to control voltage and current independently, as well as front-facing banana plugs designed for safety and convenience.

The PWR-01 programmable internal-memory feature lets the engineer save custom sequences on the power supply, eliminating the need to access a PC every time a test is conducted.

Synchronized operation allows for more complex sequences over multiple channels for accurate testing of DC/DC converters and other products.

LAN (LXI), USB, and RS-232 interfaces are included as a standard; the PWR can be operated in almost any testing environment via SCPI commands, facilitating system integration.

Kikusui power supplies are available for both sale and hire from UK based Telonic Instruments Ltd.

The EMBC01 is a Bluetooth Low-Energy proximity beacon suitable for mass deployment by system integrators. The EMBC01 advertises ID data that is compatible with common beacon standards (UUID, Major ID, and Minor ID). The EMBC01 is part of the coin family of beacons which come in a small, weatherproof enclosure, using a standard coin-cell battery. A push-button with LED feedback can be used to select the right operating mode for your deployment. The EMBC01 operating modes offer tradeoffs between the best performance, range, and battery lifetime. The push-button can be used to cycle through different beaconing modes. Modes for high performance and long battery life are available. Any mode can be locked for final deployment. The EMBC01 can be delivered in any quantity with guaranteed unique ID numbers. A unique serial number is printed on the label and encoded in a QR code for optical scanning. The EMBC01 is FCC, IC, and CE certified, RoHS, Reach, and halogen free compliant.

Applications

• Customer experience enhancement: stores, malls, airports, museums, theme parks, exhibits, etc.

• Proximity, Electronic Leash Applications • Push notifications, Alerts • Passive data collection
