How did you get into footwear Marc? Please tell us about your background and your current business? I’ve always been extremely interested in fashion and when a shoe shop unit came up for sale in our local town of Blackpool in 1976, I snapped it up and that was how our business started.

Where are your premises located and how many people do you employ? Do you have a high turnover of staff? Tell us about your shop, the local area, your customers and their requirements? Our shoe shop is based in Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire. We have four employees, with a low staff turnover. We are a large shop, which sells both ladies and gents footwear; with all age ranges are attended for. We sell shoes, boots, slippers, sandals, both smart and casual. We also have a small selection of handbags, socks and belts. Lytham is a beautiful town situated by the sea with plenty of restaurants,

cafes and bars. There are a lot of small independent retailers ranging from boutique clothes shops to greengrocers and fishmongers. The shop is located on the main high street, which runs the length of the town. It is a small, busy, friendy town with great amenities and lots going on. In August every year Lytham holds a 1940’s weekend and the Lytham

Festival. The festival runs over a four-day period on Lythams’ superb green. This generates a lot of business throughout the town and a vibrant buzz in the area. Our customers require something that is unique to us as a shop and we

pride ourselves on individual styles within the brands that we sell, to be completely diverse to that of other shoe shops. Customers like to have a variety of choice, not only with regards to styles but width fittings and an ample range of brands to choose from.
