International, luxury footwear brand, Church’s Shoes, has underpinned its international retail value chain with an omnichannel solution from Dedagroup Stealth, the company dedicated to fashion and luxury retail, and part of Dedagroup. From a small family-run workshop set up in Northampton in 1873, the


heritage of the premium footwear brand, which prides itself on creating high quality shoes that are made to last, has seen it grow into an international brand with a global footprint. Church’s store estate now spans stores in global territories, including the UK, Italy, Singapore, Hong Kong – with its first store totally dedicated to women’s collections launched in the heart of London’s luxury shopping district on New Bond Street in 2011. As a growing international brand, operating in multiple territories and


across multiple sales channels, Church’s Shoes recognised the need to integrate its systems to give a unified view of its customers – from the channels they shop in, to their buying journeys and purchasing habits – combined with a single view of stock, whether it was in the central warehouse, in-store or across its ecommerce platforms. Replacing its disparate, out-dated legacy systems with Stealth®, a


scalable omnichannel solution from Dedagroup Stealth, Church’s Shoes could leverage single stock pool capabilities and a single view of the customer on an international scale, in real-time. This allowed the footwear brand to enhance customer experience, by personalising in-store encounters and having greater access to available stock through one platform, to meet the high levels of service expected from its discerning customer base in order to increase conversions. INTERNATIONAL GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE SHOE, LEATHER & ALLIED TRADES


The 73rd Championship was played on the Golf Coast of Lancashire, at Hillside Golf Club and Southport & Ainsdale Golf Club, both of which were in excellent condition. The weather was dry and sunny, but the wind proved a real challenge on the first day. 90 competitors took part in the 36 Hole Championship, and the


Winner of “The News Bowl” was Chris Swift from Northamptonshire with 67 points, second, winning the United Chrometanner’s Cup, after a countback ,was Bernard O’Brian from Galway with 66 points, and third winning the Chairman’s Mashie was David Goldman of Church & Co also on 66 points. The Ladies Championship was won by Jane Broughton from


Nottinghamshire with 54 points. The Wilbur Muirhead Scratch Trophy was won by Kenny Stirling from


Scotland, having scored 40 points at Hillside, the highest individual round of the Championship. The other principal Trophies were won by the following, Charles


Clinkard won the Turner Bowl, Charles Chamberlain the Mawer Marlow Trophy, Graham paver the Parker Founders Trophy, and Ivor Tilley the Presidents Salver. In the International Match for the Bridge of Weir Trophy England &


Wales beat Scotland & Ireland by 2 ½ to 1 ½to win for the first time in recent years. The Trade Banquet on the Thursday evening raised over £8000 on the night for the Trade Charities from the Prize Draw and Auction. The total donated by the Championship since its beginning in 1946 has now passed the £500,000. Representatives from the Footwear Friends, President David Lockyer, and the LHTBI Richard Brown, were present


to receive cheques from Chairman Ian Ferris. In 2019 the Championship will be at Carden Park in Cheshire on June 12th, 13th and 14th, and the 75th Championship in 2020 will be in the Dublin area at a location to be decided.
