HOTTER STEPS UP TO DEVELOP APPRENTICESHIPS
The UK’s biggest shoe maker has stepped up to back Apprenticeships, upskilling their existing workforce and attracting new talent in to the business. “Our Learning and Development team have been working closely with the British Footwear Association and other leading shoemaker employers, to create the industry specific Footwear Manufacturer Apprenticeship. This initiative, which supports the government’s commitment to apprenticeships, will ensure existing and future employees have access to the knowledge and skills they need to ensure the continued growth and success of the UK footwear sector.” commented Sara Prowse, CEO. She added “We also feel it is imperative that we support
apprenticeships as they will significantly enhance the development of our people. We currently have 60 staff across the business enrolled on apprenticeships from level 2 to level 5, covering a wide range of areas including our Retail, Customer Services, Warehouse and Storage. Tony Rankin, Learning and Development Manager said “We are
committed to investing in the future skills of our teams with high quality career training that will provide the UK footwear industry with a more dynamic and experienced workforce. “We currently have four spaces available at our factory in Lancashire
for the new Footwear Manufacturer Apprenticeship for ages 18 plus, interested candidates must have a keen interest in the manufacturing process behind producing quality footwear, be self-motivated and work well within a team. This apprenticeship will give successful applicants the chance to progress within the industry, gain technical knowledge and give a greater understanding of a highly advanced technical process.” If you are interested in applying for an apprenticeship at Hotter contact

HOTTER SUPPORTS SOLES4SOULS
Hotter opened its factory last month to the international non-profit Soles4Souls, donating 1,000 pairs of shoes to help create opportunities for people in need across the globe.
Eleven student volunteers with the organization visited the UK’s
biggest shoemaker to see the high-tech footwear production in action before picking and packing 1,000 pairs of Hotter shoes, which will be distributed to Soles4Souls’ micro-enterprise programs, that create jobs in developing countries.
"We were delighted to bring these young people into our factory to
show them how our people craft our shoes,” said Hotter CEO Sara Prowse. “There is so much technology and precision engineering involved in creating a pair of shoes which delivers the perfect fit, so we will really be able to give them a great insight into footwear manufacture. We're hosting a lunch with our staff so the students will get an opportunity to talk about their work and then it will be all hands on deck to pick and pack 1,000 pairs of shoes for our donation."
“We are so grateful for Hotter’s partnership with our organization,”
said Mackenzie Moore, Soles4Souls’ Director of Global Partnerships. “For our student volunteers to be able to see both how the shoes are made, and then how they can impact people living in poverty, is really special.”

background and career within retail,” said Jacqueline Hughes-Lundy, Award Founder. “At Hotter in particular we wanted to recognise her approach to staff progress and development within the business. “These awards have reflected the talent, ambition and
selfless spirit of the women in our region, inspiring us with their stories and providing positive role models for the next generation for the past 26 years,” she added. “They have stood the test of time because at their heart is the desire to find and recognise those women who inspire us.”
Sky Sports presenter, Angela Powers interviewed the

The winners were announced by a trio of guests: broadcaster Andy Crane; Patchwork Pate Founder, Margaret Carter and Alice Barry, who everyone recognised from her days as Lillian in Shameless.
