TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION ADVERTORIAL

ydra-Cell pumps are claimed to offer the most economical solution for precision metering and dosing thanks to their simple, clever design with multiple hydraulically balanced diaphragms in a single pump head. Unlike typical API 675 diaphragm pumps, which are big, slow moving

and deliver a large volume on each stroke, Hydra-Cell pumps work at high speed, delivering a small volume from each cell but at high frequency, which is why the pumps can be physically smaller in relation to flow capability and consequently less expensive to acquire and operate. Hydra-Cell’s multiple diaphragms work in sequence to produce a virtually pulseless liquid flow, removing the need

Inert Gas Blanketing D

o you use inert gas blanketing within your manufacturing process? Inert gas blanketing is a

process used to protect volatile, combustible or perishable products from undesirable reactions such as oxidation or explosion. The Rapidox 1100 and Rapidox 2100 zirconia oxygen gas analysers can measure oxygen content at the lowest level in parts per million, ensuring that the inert environment is as pure as possible.

There are many benefits in inert gas blanketing such as:

• Risk of oxidisation Assists in chemical storage • Protects perishable products • Enhances safety • Reduces contamination • Maintains inert environment • Used in many applications

If you would like further information on Rapidox gas analysers or advice using gas analysis within your process.

Measuring Flow of Low Viscosity Fluids B

ased on a radial flow technique, Titan Enterprises turbine flowmeter range

provides the ideal way for accurately measuring the flow of low viscosity liquids. Classic turbine flowmeters use propeller

type turbines in a closed circular conduit. The turbine is mounted on low friction bearings and its rotation is detected through the chamber wall by one of a variety of detector types. These flowmeters have good linearity in larger diameters but as the pipe bore reduces the efficiency of the flowmeter also reduces. For smaller diameter pipe applications – Titan Enterprise turbine

flowmeters employ a design where the flow of fluid is directed at the turbine that is mounted on robust low friction sapphire bearings. The geometry of the turbine and the fluid chamber ensures that the rotational speed of the rotor is proportional to the flow rate through the device.

for pulsation dampeners in most installations, saving further installation and maintenance costs. Pipe strain and system leaks are also reduced. Hydra-Cell pumps are exceptionally energy efficient (80% and above), which also reduces power requirement and

energy costs. Wanner Internationl Ltd

NORD provides product data with EPLAN T

echnical and electrical product data, as well as product macros for NORD electronic drive components, are now

available in the web-based EPLAN data portal and can be used by all members of the portal for their project work. EPLAN Electric P8 is one of the most important software solutions for CAD projects. EPLAN P8 provides almost unlimited possibilities for project planning, documentation and management of automation projects. EPLAN P8 product macros are available for motor starters and frequency inverters from the NORD series SK135E, SK180E, SK200E and SK500E, as well as for all NORD electronic drive technology accessories. Under the heading "Documentation/Software" on the NORD website, all currently available product macros for EPLAN P8 are also available as free downloads.

Lenze boosts training across its Drive &

Automation platform

backed up by the latest software technology. Lenze has stepped up its global training programme –

L

offering customers everything from basic service training to tailored one-day courses and immersive sessions backed by virtual machines. Its commissioning and application training courses are

tailored to the needs of engineers within machine and system manufacturers, to help them incorporate the latest drive and automation technology into their systems. One new course, introduced this year, is a one-day

workshop on how to apply Lenze’s FAST application software toolbox to robotics applications. FAST is a way of incorporating standard technology modules into a program, accelerating the development of machine software. In this new course, delegates learn how to commission a robotic PLC-program and adapt it to individual requirements.
