is used to handle a food ingredient, any scoring of the end-covers is machined back to a clean face and the spigot is re- machined to suit. Regardless of whether the rotor blades are worn they will be removed, as it is easier to thoroughly clean blades. Needless to say, new fixings will always be used and the old fixings discarded. With a fixed vane rotor, excessive wear points are fillet welded and re-machined

back to original dimensions. As every refurbished

valve carries a twelve month warranty, all bearings, shaft seals and rotor location components are replaced. If drive chains show signs of stretching, they are also replaced. Finally, every valve – with the exception of those with stainless steel bodies - is repainted and test run. The rules with regards to valve refurbishment change when the valve is ATEX certified. Rather than repairing worn parts, new parts will always be used in order to comply with current

ATEX regulations. With new parts fitted the valve will need to be re-certified. The fact of the matter is that in any

year, DMN technicians will examine a lot of valves. But because of the way that they are constructed, relatively few will need anything more than a visual examination and cleaning. But when a total valve refurbishment is required, customers can be absolutely assured that their valve will be returned in an as-new condition and ready to be reinstalled.
