Genesis – The Birth Of A New Type Of Multiphase Detector
Magnetrol’s revolutionary multiphase detector, Genesis, is a Time Domain Reflectometry Device (TDR) based level detector designed to accurately define and quantify the various layers in multiple interface level measurement. Encompassing a
number of significant engineering developments from Magnetrol’s progressive engineering team, this innovative level detector can deliver a full interface profile of a vessel with performance which surpasses many of the more traditional technologies. Utilizing patented “Top -Down” and Bottom-Up” signals, along with advanced level detection algorithms, Genesis can be deployed in a wide variety of interface applications ranging from very light hydrocarbons to water-based media. For example, Genesis can be used to define the
multiple interfaces (Sand – water – emulsion – oil – gas) with exceptional precision and can even identify the magnitude of any emulsion layer.

Handling the Appetite for Plant Based Meals
Global demand for meat and dairy free plant based products has seen tremendous growth, with sales reaching an all time high in 2021 of £800M. As plant based meat and dairy free product demand soars, and with the market growing over 74% during the past 3 years (source:
plantbasednews.org), food manufacturers may be wondering how should plant based Meats and dairy free food be handled, and if they should be dealt with differently? There are four main considerations when handling Plant based meat alternatives which include their viscosity meaning specialist pump types are often required for their transfer, the solid handling capability of pumps to ensure soft solids remain intact or any large solids are handled appropriately. That plant based ingredients are metered accurately into process for cost control, and that flexibility remains in a process for reformulation.

DMN & Pet food
The pet food industry continues to grow and is booming! Last year alone Americans spent over $72.56 billion on their pets. 2022 promises to be a new record year and the global pet food market is growing to an estimated $98.81billion. When pet owners spend an average of $329- $442 on pet food in a year, you know the market is good! DMN-WESTINGHOUSE has been involved with the pet food industry for many years and has worked closely with companies building new facilities and refurbishing existing plants. Each day we are seeking for tomorrow’s solutions to answer questions this high demanding industry asks us. We have a range of custom-made rotary valves for the pet food industry in stainless steel and cast iron sizes from 100mm up to 500mm and custom-made diverter valves also for the pet food industry in sizes up to 400mm. Virtually every type of rotary valve or diverter valve that we manufacture can be ATEX certified. Also, our range includes components that are USDA Dairy Accepted, EC 1935/2004 compliant, and/or conform to FDA regulations concerning food contact.

Full-metal ultrasonic sensing from ifm electronic
Wet environments coupled with aggressive chemical cleaning can make non-contact ultrasonic distance measurement and level sensing very challenging, full-metal ultrasonic sensors in the new UIT300 range from ifm electronic provide a convenient, durable and cost-effective solution. To ensure long life even in demanding environments, all exposed surfaces of these cylindrical M30 sensors, including the sensing face and the connector housing, are fabricated from high grade 316L stainless steel, which is highly resistant to corrosion. UIT300-series ultrasonic sensors have a sensing range of 250 to 2,500 mm, with a 400 x 400 mm target. They incorporate an IO-Link interface which is used for configuration and to provide a continuous measurement of sensor-to-target distance with a resolution of 3 mm. Also available via IO-Link is an echo quality indication, which can be used as an aid for optimising the installation of the sensor and to monitor its performance while it is in service.
