50MHz Pulse Generators achieve new price/performance point
anti-vandal switch range B
ulgin – has extended its popular range of anti- vandal products to include a 12 mm miniature push button variant. The latest addition to the company’s anti-vandal portfolio is the smallest of its kind and one of the most versatile, offering multiple actuator options and a long life expectancy, guaranteed to 200,000 cycles. The IP65 and IK08- rated miniature anti-vandal range is perfect for demanding environments where reliability is vital, with an operating temperature ranging from -25 to + 55 °C and shock resistance greater than 10g. Screw and pin terminal options with ratings up to 36 V DC, 2 A, are available in a wide variety of actuator and body types,
including: nickel-plated brass,
stainless steel, zinc-aluminium and chrome-plated bodies, domed, flush and raised actuator options in stainless steel or polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and dot and ring LED illuminated variants. The anti- vandal switches are suitable for a wide range of demanding applications in fields as diverse as defence and security,
scientific and medical, and industrial manufacturing.

im-TTi has launched a series of high performance pulse generators that achieves a new price/performance point. The four models in the new TGP3100 Series are true pulse generators, single or dual channel, operating at up to 50MHz. Unlike DDS function generators that also

incorporate a pulse generator capability, the TGP3100 series has a dedicated pulse generator architecture enabling a much higher resolution of pulse width and delay, and asynchronous operation with minimal jitter. Existing dedicated pulse generators have their origins in the analog world and typically retain function-specific hardware blocks to achieve performance.
By contrast the new Aim-TTi generators
perform all of their functionality within the digital domain using very high levels of integration. The TGP3100 series can generate pulses from 1mHz up to 50MHz with pulse width and delay resolutions of 100ps. Independently variable rise and fall times can be set from 5ns up to 800 seconds. PWM and PDM (pulse width and pulse delay modulation) are incorporated but, unlike most other pulse generators, AM, FM, PM, SUM, FSK and BPSK modulations are also possible. Double pulse and user-defined pulse pattern operation is available, the latter having up to 65536
bits.
PRBS (Pseudo-Random Bit Sequence) sequence patterns can be created with lengths between 127 and 8,388,607 bits. Time delay compensated external triggering allows asynchronous pulse generation with variable delay and minimal jitter. An external width mode allows asynchronous pulse reconstruction. A high drive capability output stage can achieve 20 volts pk-pk into a 50 Ohm load. Fully variable output voltage can be load impedance compensated over a wide range with a minimum output level of 10mV pk-pk.
transport and infrastructure,
In addition to their operation as true pulse generators, the TGP3100 series can act as high performance noise generators and as full arbitrary/function generators making them truly universal waveform generators. Sine waves are available up to 50MHz and fifteen other standard waveforms are provided. Arbitrary
waveforms have 16 bit resolution with an 800MS/s sample rate. Single and dual channel models are available.

Energy optimization made easy
o you analyse the energy flow and energy peaks in your company? Opportunities for optimization can be found even in intelligently managed and successful companies.
D Small and mid-sized manufacturing
companies may make use of the so called peak consumption compensation according to §55 of the (German) energy law and §10 of the (German) electricity tax law to reduce the tax charge of the company for energy and electricity. The first steps for electricity efficiency optimization is to analyze the current situation required by the (German) regulation about peak consumption compensation of efficiency systems:
• Analyse and collect energy flows and energy sources
• Identify technically measured and evaluated monetary units
• Documentation of the energy consumption in equipments and devices In this way it is possible to identify, achieve and represent savings potentials. To facilitate the access to energy analysis METZ CONNECT provides the Modbus-RTU Smart Meter as individual module for the use in building automation. The MR-SM3 collects current, voltage and power in three one-phase current circuits.
Connected to a Modbus RTU the MR-SM3 can be read out via a controller and supplies the values
of parameters on each phase such as: 3 x effective voltage values, 3 x effective current values, 3 x peak voltage values, 3 x peak current values, frequency, active power / total active power, apparent power and reactive power / total reactive power. These parameters can be further processed in applications such as limit value and phase monitoring, in meter applications, in motor and frequency monitoring, in load shedding and data logging.
With its very compact housing design – width 55 mm and front height 45 mm – the MR-SM3 is suitable for rail mounting in sub-distribution boards. The MR-SM3 can be quickly integrated in existing systems via Modbus RTU and be connected by jumper.
