EOS Power starts new line for ultra-small power supplies

MS Electronics Ltd has available a 240x64 pixel high contrast, easy to read super-twist


graphic display. The EA DOGM240-6 module is 94x40 mm with a view area of 90x24 mm (WxH). This display is an ideal fit in a 19” racks with 1RU or more. Single +3.3V without the need for a negative voltage. Including on-board UC1611s controller with SPI and I²C Interface. Available in STN and FSTN pos/neg technologies with 3 different LED backlight colours. White, amber and dual red/green colour are available. The COG design offers a very thin display of only 2.8mm thick or 5.8 mm including the backlight.


A simulator tool, font


editor and USB test board are available to help with development. The simulator tool immediately drops any picture or text onto the display that is plugged into the EA 9780-3USB board. Other displays sizes are available starting from 1.5” to 3.9” and 1x8, 2x8, 3x16 and 4x20 (line x char).

OS Power Ltd. just opened a new high-speed, high precision production line for small, high efficiency AC/DC power supplies.


This enables the Mumbai-based “low to mid volume/ high mix” global power solution experts to provide an additional production capacity of 3,500 power supplies per day – a 50 percent growth. EOS Power is seeing unprecedented demands for its new series of low profile high power density medical, telco and industrial equipment. EOS is known for its small, high efficiency AC/DC power supplies like the current (M)WLP series from 75 to 350 W for medical and industrial applications. The new line is a perfect match for EOS’s “one stop-shop” philosophy. Core of the line is one a FUJI XPF-L high speed multi-function precision placer. State-of-the-art control solutions from the U.S., Japan and Korea are constantly supervising the production process. An EMST wave soldering machine is accurately speeding up the production process.

New PWM controller board reduces power and drives up to four fans


voltage. PWM control is used to adjust fan speed to optimise power consumption. The fully enclosed 9PC8666X-S001 is ideal for prototyping and offers three control options; external thermistor, variable voltage (0-5VDC) or variable resistor control, and comes with a built-in internal adjustment knob to set the target temperature or the duty cycle. The three open board PCB controllers are suitable for one control type, drive four fans each and can be easily mounted using four mounting holes and spring clamp connections. The 9PC8045D-V001 uses a 0-5VDC control voltage to change the PWM duty cycle and the 9PC8045D-R001 uses a 10kohm variable resistor. The 9PC8045D-T001 uses an NTC thermistor to monitor the temperature and an on board trimmer to set the target equipment temperature between 30 and 50 degrees C.

Space limitations mean that panel builders and


switchgear manufacturers have to accommodate more and more mechanical and electrical components in enclosures. Now, a smart new enclosure accessory from Rittal can provide far greater scope for the interior configuration of compact enclosures. The planning and configuration of interior installations within compact enclosures can be both time-consuming and complicated.


It can also lead to actions which compromise the integrity of the enclosure and add to the cost of installation.


Additional holes often have to be drilled


in areas such as the side panels to fasten components outside of the mounting plate. This not only lowers the enclosure’s protection category, it is also adds significantly to the setting-up costs. The limited available installation space inside the enclosure can also cause problems around the best use of the existing mounting surfaces. In response, Rittal has developed an interior installation rail.

any need for additional drilling through the enclosure panels. This neat solution saves time and preserves the enclosure’s protection


category. It can be placed wherever it is needed in the enclosure and is easily fixed (with a screw) and it will support static loads of up to 100 N. A door- operated switch can also be fitted to the rail using an adapter (supplied). This means that rail mounting is easy even if the mounting plate has already been installed. The rail has two rows of system punchings to create an additional mounting surface for items such as punched sections, enclosure lights, the afore- mentioned door-operated switches, door stays, cable conduit holders and a range of other components. Use of the rail can easily double the available mounting surface inside an AE compact enclosure. And because it has also been designed to use the accessories for the tried-and-tested modular TS 8 enclosure system, there is no longer any need to keep a duplicate stock of accessories.
