HIGH-PERFORMANCE OSCILLOSCOPES OFFER ADVANCED MEASUREMENT ACCURACY & SPEED A

new family of oscilloscopes has ben unveiled by Rohde &

Schwarz. In particular with this range, the T&M expert focused on measurement accuracy, speed, a wide range of functions and future- proof technology. The R&S RTP is now available as a 4GHz, 6GHz or 8GHz model.

These oscilloscopes combine

signal integrity with a high acquisition rate. In standard acquisition mode, it can measure a

million waveforms per second. This helps users to find sporadic errors much faster. The instrument compensates

transmission losses from the signal source to the oscilloscope (deembedding) in realtime. The advantage of this is that the oscilloscope is still extremely fast even with signal correction activated. Now with digital trigger architecture, it can precisely trigger on compensated signals.

A further feature of the R&S RTP

oscilloscope that saves a lot of time is hardware acceleration for a range of analysis functions. Mask tests, histograms and frequency domain analyses can be performed at high speed for fast results with high statistical reliability. The new oscilloscopes are ideal

for a wide-base market, particularly in the fields of aerospace and defence and automotive. www.rohde-schwarz.com/rtp

FLASH MEMORY SOLUTIONS FOR AUTOMOTIVE AND INDUSTRIAL

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. has announced its Semper NOR Flash memory family for automotive and industrial applications. The Semper Flash family is architected and designed to meet the

automotive industry’s ISO 26262 functional safety standard for building fail-safe embedded automotive systems. The family is automotive-qualified, ASIL-B functional safety compliant, and provides superior endurance and data retention at the extreme temperatures common in automotive and industrial applications. Rainer Hoehler, Vice President of the Flash Business Unit at

Cypress says: “We designed the new Semper Flash family specifically to achieve functional safety compliance to protect against system failures. This family also provides read bandwidth, instant-on support, high-endurance, and long retention for reliable long-term performance in harsh operating environments.” Cypress’ EnduraFlex architecture enables a Semper Flash

device to be divided into multiple partitions, independently optimised for high endurance or long retention. For frequent data writes, a partition can be configured to deliver up to 1.28 million program-erase cycles for 512Mb density parts and 2.56 million cycles for 1Gb parts. For code and configuration storage, a partition can be configured to retain data for 25 years. www.cypress.com

Keysight Technologies, Inc. has developed a new measurement platform that is claimed helps ensure consistent, repeatable results across all phases of design. The new Streamline Series is comprised of compact USB instruments: vector network analysers (VNAs), oscilloscopes and an arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) that utilise trusted Keysight technologies, measurement algorithms, and application software.

4 JUNE 2018 | ELECTRONICS ADVANCED 3D PRINTER

RS Components (RS), has announced availability of the latest 3D printer from Ultimaker. The Ultimaker S5 offers continuous operation, large build volume, advanced connectivity, dual extrusion, an open filament system and the ability to print with a wide range of materials, including third-party filaments. The printer employs silent stepper

drivers, making it ideal for use in an office or studio environment. A further key element is the flexible platform, which enables users to align the machine with their existing processes to

build volume of 330 x 240 x 300mm, which makes it suitable for printing larger objects, and the machine’s active multi-point bed-levelling system. This monitors the flow of material and ensures a perfect first layer by compensating for variations in build- plate topography and then automatically correcting errors during the printing process to deliver high- quality parts. The printer has also been designed to use a very wide range of materials from PLA and Tough PLA to advanced plastics such as Nylon, PC and even composite materials. Support for other widely available materials includes ABS, CPE, CPE+, TPU 95A, PP, PVA and Breakaway. The S5 also offers a high build-plate temperature of up to 140°C, which is required by materials such as PC. However, in addition to the printer’s standard glass build plate, a more resistant build plate made from aluminium will also be available. www.rs-online.com

A new range of Form-In-Place EMI shielding materials and a brand new silver conductive adhesive has been developed by Electrolube. The shielding products have proven extremely successful in China, where they have primarily been used for the smart phone market, and are now being launched largely to automotive manufacturers in Europe, who require reliable, high performance EMI shielding materials for applications such as automatic mirrors, cameras, radar modules, rear/side detection systems and car audio/entertainment systems.

Analog Devices has expanded its RadioVerse technology and design ecosystem with a wide bandwidth RF transceiver, which provides a single radio platform to accelerate the deployment of 5G, sustain 2G/3G/4G coverage, and simplify phased array radar design. The ADRV9009 RF transceiver delivers twice the bandwidth (200MHz) of previous generation devices and replaces as many as 20 components, cutting power in half and package size by 60 percent. The ADRV9009 transceiver meets the rigorous antenna density and expanded network capacity requirements of emerging 5G wireless infrastructure equipment and aerospace and defence systems.
