Sharp displays in postage stamp format
DISPLAY VISIONS GmbH is offering graphic displays in a miniature format with various panel technologies. The OLED displays excel with sharp contrasts in all viewing directions. The same goes for the colour IPS-TFT displays, which are
also optionally equipped with a touch surface. The micro-displays from DISPLAY VISIONS GmbH are hardly bigger than a stamp. These graphic displays are available in both OLED and IPS-TFT technology versions. The OLED displays of the EA W096016 series are 0.84 inches in size. 96x16 white pixels sit on an active surface of 21x3.5 mm in size. Since OLED pixels themselves light up and therefore do not require backlighting the whole module is only 1.3 mm thick. And the graphic controller SSD1306B is already integrated. Thanks to the OLED technology, there are no losses of contrast even at extremely oblique viewing angles. Even at an operating temperature of -40°C, the response time is extremely short at 10µs. Strong contrast, also in colour
With a 0.96-inch screen size, the coloured TFT-IPS displays of the EA TFT009-81 series are a little bigger. Therefore, they also possess a resolution of 160x80 pixels on an active surface of just under 22x11 mm. Thanks to IPS technology with “All Angle Colour Stability” Management (AACS), the colours and contrasts remain virtually unchanged even with changing viewing angles. They can be used without losses of quality in portrait (80x160) or landscape format (160x80). The brightness of the displays is typically 500 cd/ m². This makes them suitable for many different applica- tions in industry and medicine, even in direct sunlight.

Putting the Value in VAR Solid State Disks Limited (SSDL) is a value-added reseller (VAR) of
latest-technology Flash and DRAM memory solutions for commercial and industrial applications, and a trusted partner of Innodisk, Transcend and Western Digital / SanDisk. What makes SSDL different from other VARs and distributors is that the company is also an OEM of embedded system products; solid-state, swap-in replacements for failing/obsolete yesteryear technology storage devices (such as floppy disk and early generation hard disk drives). This makes SSDL empathetic to the real-life needs of designers, manufacturers and purchasers.
Indeed, the expert knowledge within - and level of support provided by - SSDL is second to none. The company’s FAEs are always on hand to answers questions and SSDL can even help you with PCB design, device programming and product test/verification. How many other distributors or VARs provide such value?

Cryogenic isolators from DiTom Microwave now available from East Coast Microwave, a subsidiary of Powell Electronics
In stock at East Coast Microwave, a subsidiary of Powell Electronics, the supplier of connectors and more for high-rel applications including defence, aerospace and industrial, are cryogenic isolators from DiTom Microwave. The 3-port ferrite devices are designed to operate at cryogenic temperatures at or below 77K and provide high isolation in one direction while providing low loss in the other direction. Cryogenic isolators are ideal for use in laboratories, quantum computing as well as aerospace applications. The D3I4080Y cryogenic isolator for example operates from 4 to 8 GHz. It can handle an average forward input power of up to 30W, a peak input power of 50W, and a reverse input power of 2W. The component provides more than 16dB of isolation and has an insertion loss of less than 0.4dB. It is available in a module that measures 1.0 x 1.0 x 0.5 inches and features SMA (male/female) connectors.
