THERMAL MANAGEMENT
fans that depending on the model, are waterproof up to IP68, long life (>150K hour L10 life), shock resistant to 75G and operate in temperatures between -40° to +85° C.
Test report and recommendations. Armed with P-Q curves and impedance data of the candidate fans EAO engineers proceed to use the CAS to generate a series of graphical output and testing datapoints. The CAS also let the customer know whether their design and the Sanyo Denki fan(s) in the test are delivering suffi cient airfl ow to keep the equipment within the required temperature parameters and in the process, usefully models the effect of using multiple parallel fans. The CAS also provides useful information on the differences that adjustment of the PWM speed control settings make and produces an estimate of the expected fan noise. The multiple test calculations delivered by the combination of the Sanyo Denki DCAT, the CAS and EAO expertise enable the customer’s enclosure to be comprehensively tested, ensure that the fan(s) are operating in the optimum area of the P-Q curve whilst enabling design improvements to be made in real time, saving weeks of CFD work.
