ANGLED M5 PANEL MOUNT CONNECTORS ENHANCE RANGE

CO2-REDUCED DATA AND CONTROL CABLES

SAB Bröckskes has introduced a new CO2-reduced series of data and control cables. The SABorganic S 1000 cable, which can be twisted by 60° per meter, has an outer

sheath made of polyurethane based on organic materials. The new material is sourced from short, local supply chains and consists of 45%

renewable raw materials, reducing the carbon footprint by an average of 25% versus comparable fossil-dependent products. The cable measures up to conventional SAB drag chain cables such as the S 200 in all relevant product properties. The SABorganic S 1000, offered by SAB Bröckskes as Control and Data versions, is

In applications such as circuit board assembly, every millimetre often matters. In addition, custom connector systems are needed that can be used in the smallest of spaces. So when a provider of complete solutions for the electrical engineering and IT industries needed one of binder’s smallest connectors for its application, it became clear that only an angled version would be suitable. As binder didn’t have this in its produce range, it

developed an angled M5 panel mount connector which has now been added to its portfolio. The angled M5 panel mount connectors form a crucial part of the connector system, enabling mechanical and electrical connections in tight spaces. The connectors are aimed at markets where high

reliability and robustness are required, such as robotics and measurement technology. Typical application areas include industrial camera technology, sensors for automation, analytical devices, cobots, and drones. “An angled version of our M5-size panel mount connectors is, in itself, a design challenge. Additionally, the customer required the component dimensions to be reduced to a maximum of 7.5mm x 7.5mm, so that as many parts as possible could be placed side by side on the circuit board. This brought us up against geometric limits such as wall thickness and clearance and creepage distances. Material selection also became a factor. New contacts and a new housing were needed for the panel mount connectors. New production tools had to be developed to ensure that the angled panel mount connectors could be reliably produced in series. But the effort was worth it. In the end, we successfully realised a high-quality component,” explains Guido Werner. Additional features include spread positioning pins, which

ensure optimal twist protection on the circuit board even before soldering; and a recessed O-ring, which ensures a reliable seal with the housing.

available by default in various unshielded and shielded types with three to 20 wires in cross-sections between 0.14 mm² and 10.0 mm². Additional sizes can be realised on request. The new sheath material is halogen- free and flame-retardant according to IEC 60332-1-2. It is also resistant to mineral-oil- based lubricants and many chemicals. The new series is ozone-resistant in

accordance with EN 50396; UV weather- resistant in accordance with HD 605; and free of substances that interfere with paint wetting.

90° CABLE ENTRY FOR SEALED, FLEXIBLE CABLE MANAGEMENT

Panduit has launched its next generation of cable management solutions, the Wire Basket Cable Tray Routing System, which is designed to route and manage copper data cables, fibre optic, or power cables within data centre, connected building, and industrial environments. The Wire Basket pathway

sections have a grid pattern with larger openings than alternative routing system offerings, allowing a greater number of cables to pass through while reducing wire cutting, the company explains. By creating less wire

cutting and leaving fewer sharp edges, the routing system creates a safer environment for network engineers. For a proper bend radius, the Wire Basket Cable Tray Routing System is available in a variety of sizes to protect cables at intersections. The Wire Basket is UL listed to the highest standard of ruggedness and bonding capacity. Its innovative features provide quick, safe, and easy assembly for reduced cost and fast deployment. “Wire Basket offers application versatility," said Martin Kandziora,

Panduit EMEA, senior marketing manager. "This offering brings improved safety to the market through its innovative design, taking the Wire Basket a step forward in data centre and enterprise environments.”
