mart Manufacturing & Engineering week will be taking place at Birmingham’s NEC on 5-6 June. Those attending will
find a number of co-located events featuring an extensive range of technologies and products: • Smart Factory Expo: Visitors will discover insights, solutions and connections to help with their digital transformation projects.
• Fluid Power & Systems: Featuring hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, as well as integrated systems engineering components.
• Design + Engineering Expo: For designers and engineering professionals looking to reduce costs, streamline and optimise future strategy.
• Maintec: The maintenance and reliability engineering exhibition.
from Mitsubishi Electrics will be joined by Martyn Williams from COPA DATA to present The Importance of Sustainable Manufacturing. In the Air-Tech Theatre, Ahmed Kovacevic,
research chair in compressor technology, will present on the subject of: PDM Analysis, the creator and distributor of software SCORG for design and analysis of superior screw compressors and expanders. As well as the free to attend educational
• Drives & controls: The event for robotics, automation, power transmission and motion control. This covers areas such as energy efficiency, machine safety, drives, motion control, robotics, etc.
• Air-Tech: An event for the compressed air, generators and vacuum market.
EDUCATION There will be nearly 150 free-to-attend education sessions taking place during the events. There are eight solution theatres in total covering: Digital Transformation, IIoT & Connectivity, Industrial Data & AI, Innovation, Maintenance, Drives & Technology, Air-Tech Solutions, and Fluid Power & Systems. Visitors are encouraged to plan their programme in advance using the individual theatre exploration tools available on the website. Highlights from the keynote presentations include Neelofar Ansari, senior manufacturing engineer, BAE System’s, in the IIoT and Connectivity Theatre on the first day. He will be presenting Human Augmentation: Connecting with Manufacturing Environments. In addition, Daniel Smalley from Siemens, along with Ian Clarke from InControl Systems,

will talk about Demystifying Digitalisation and Growthon day two. Meanwhile, in the Design & Innovation Theatre, Sam Tilley from Omron will be joined by Carl Diver from Manchester Metropolitan University to give a presentation entitled How does the Skills Gap Affect the Future Technology Sector. Roy Haworth, head of Digital Mock Up Process and Implementation, Airbus Defence & Space, will be talking about Using CAD data to drive data fusion and 3D visualisationon day two. Elsewhere in the Design & Innovation
Theatre, Geoff Mackey, UK country head, Plastics Europe, will be talking about Product design today, an essential for circularity and how product design plays a crucial role in fostering circularity in manufacturing. In the Drives & Technology Theatre, Krishna
Mistry, VP of Series Engineering, Verge Motorcycles, will be covering Agile Engineering Cycles: Optimising Design, Development, and Deployment in Manufacturing. Also appearing is David Barret-Hague from Schneider, who will be joined by Grant Coffin from Rockwell Automation on day one to give a presentation entitled Industrial Automation Trends, Past Present and Future. On day two, Patrick Dion-Fehily
content there are also two summits – the Industrial Data and AI Summit and the Manufacturing Digitalisation Summit. Now in its 7th year the Industrial Data & AI Summit takes place on the 5th of June and focuses on Data Management and Data Insights. This includes four keynote presentations, a panel discussion and two 60-minute roundtable discussion sessions. The Manufacturing Digitalisation Summit takes
place on both days. This includes eight keynote presentations, two panel discussions and four 60-minute roundtable discussion sessions. The Summit focuses on how digitalisation is changing the way in which products are designed, produced, used and maintained as well as transforming the operations, processes and energy footprints of factories and supply chains. The Automation & Robotics Accelerator Symposium, taking place on 6th June, is intended for manufacturing executives interested in leveraging automation and robotics within their organisations.
REGISTER TO ATTEND Visitors can register for the events via the website. Your pass, however, will also enable you to access other events taking place at the NEC, namely Subcon, Med-Tech Innovation Expo, and TCT3Sixty.
