MC ‘s optoelectronics products are used all over the world in industries ranging from power distribution, mass transit systems and instrumentation through to


aerospace, defence and medical. OMC helps designers solve fibre-optic or backlighting challenges and is planning a new LED production line in the UK. OMC’s latest products at EDS (Stand L30) include the Keyed SMA (KSMA) fibre optic


all-metal diode and receptacle system for optically demanding and long-life applications. Unlike traditional non-keyed SMA devices, KSMA delivers rotational accuracy combined with security, ensuring optical signal consistency without performance variations. New for EDS is the FDH1 optical housing with an integral dust seal which protects


the optical interface, particularly essential in environments such as commercial flour mills. Another new product for the show is the FDH36 rugged bulkhead housing for fibre optic transmitters and receivers, designed specifically to withstand the harsh operating environments of automotive, mass-transit and off-road vehicles. OMC’s high output colour range of LED backlights with its proprietary Active


Diffuser Technology give a homogenous output with no lead-frame and wire-bond shadows. Easier to drive and needing less circuitry than traditional backlights, the OMC colour range was extended recently with a new high brightness purple LED.

customised HMI enclosures including the new Smart Box, a compact IP67 sealed module enclosing switches and/or E-Stops. Smart Boxes come pre-wired to M12 connectors and are available in panel or DIN rail mounting options. The company’s new Series 45 range of metal or plastic bodied industrial switches will also be featured and visitors will be able to examine samples of the new, compact IP69K jet-wash-proof Series 61 Emergency Stop switches especially designed for use in ultra-harsh environments. Grayhill Innovations: The updated Grayhill range of ruggedised illuminated


keypads, joystick and touchscreens are ideal for vehicle and other CANbus enabled applications. Visitors to Stand F20 will be able to see EAO’s application specialists demonstrate the company’s ruggedised 5-, 7- and 10.4-inch LCD displays, its new HE proportional joysticks and low profile 6- to 15-way keypads and the Touch Encoder, an innovative and intuitive interface that can replace; pushbuttons, keypads and rotary switches.
