ENCLOSURE & SAFETY SOLUTIONS SUPPLEMENT FLANGED ENCLOSURE RANGE
New to Hammond Electronics’ 1455 range of enclosures is the 1455F flanged extruded aluminium enclosure. This features a new extrusion that has a flat base with integral mounting flanges. The flanges, which extend beyond the body of the unit, have four
notches to accept securing screws for mounting the units to a flat surface such as a wall, bulkhead or machine. There are currently two sizes available: 80 x 54 x 23mm and
120 x 54 x 23mm in clear and black anodised finish. The overall width is 77mm including the two mounting flanges. Both the launch sizes are designed to accept 50mm wide 1.6mm thick PCBs with lengths of either 80 or 120mm. There are two removable aluminium end panels, which are
flat for easy machining for I/O components. The PCB mounts into horizontal slots in the body of the enclosure, with four alternative vertical positions also available.
Hammond Electronics THERMAL MANAGEMENT
Smiths Interconnect has announced enhancements to its Thermal Management Solutions product offering. The company has introduced a Hi-Perform Liquid Cooled lid integrated with a Chiller as well as a Heatpipe/ Heatsink variant. These solutions expand testing capabilities through the ability to dissipate 650 Watts. The lids stabilise the junction temperature within a desired range, allowing for IC testing at a higher thermal power point for a longer duration, resulting in a far more accurate test. Utilising state-of-the-art system
simulation models has enabled the company to optimise each lid’s design for efficient heat dissipation through a variety of cooling mechanisms. Paul Harris, sales & marketing VP at
Smiths Interconnect. “IC manufacturers and test houses must surmount thermal management challenges whilst maintaining low test costs, ensuring accurate test results and improving test throughput. Smiths Interconnect is positioned as a vital partner to meet these challenges with our thermal management solutions.”

NEW HOLDER SIZES ADDED TO ERGONOMIC HANDHELD ENCLOSURE RANGE
OKW has added new S- and M-sized holders to its STYLE-CASE range of ergonomic handheld enclosures, so they are now available in three case sizes (S, M and L). Each holder has pre-moulded elongated screw holes to speed up installation
and alignment; while an optional adhesive foil enables the holder to be stuck to surfaces that cannot be drilled, such as glass walls. STYLE-CASE is available in three standard sizes (S 123 x 48 x 24mm, M 147 x
56 x 27mm, L 166 x 64 x 31mm). Size L is available without a battery compartment. It is said to be ideal for measuring and monitoring equipment – notably in medical and social care but also in many industrial, office and household applications. The holders enable secure storage of the electronic devices when not in use. Additional accessories are available;
and the enclosures and holders can be supplied fully customised.

An aluminium housing system designed to accept a wide range of single-sized MIXO series modules has been introduced by Mencom. These robust rectangular MIXO ONE connector enclosures are available in three hood variants
and one bulkhead mounting base. The combinations of housings and single-sized MIXO inserts allow each module to be converted into a fully independent connector for electrical power, data transmission, optical signals, or compressed air applications. Among its features, the MIXO ONE series is designed to
install the single-sized modules in one guided way only so that an incorrect match with the mating connector can be avoided. The housings incorporate a pre-leading PE connection terminal and contact for the safest connector operation; and four optional coding pins are available.

180˚ STAINLESS STEEL HINGE FOR
SPECIALIST CABINETS
New from DIRAK and FDB Panel Fittings is the 180° stainless steel hinge for specialist cabinets where corrosion- resistance and robust service performance are defined requirements. The new screw-on hinge in AISI 303
features integral M5 threads for internal screw fixing which both speeds up installation and enhances security. According to the company, this lift-off
hinge is designed to fit industry standard 20mm surface-mounted door returns. It will open to 180° for adjacent cabinets and 270° for single installations.

FULLY CONFIGURED HARDWARE FOR PIXEL PROCESSING SYSTEM
By designing and delivering a custom 19” rack case in only four weeks, Verotec helped 7th Sense to launch its new Juggler hardware-based modular pixel processing system in February 2019 at the Integrated Systems Europe Show, where it won The Best of ISE 2019 Award. The Juggler system offers unlimited I/O scalability, with DisplayPort,
HDMI, SDI, and Video over IP supported as both inputs and outputs with seamless full high-bit depth pixel-based colour processing, warp and blend with a bandwidth of 14GB/s. It transfers server PCI/PCIe card processing elements into a modular hardware base, offloading valuable media server processing bandwidth. It genlocks all sources to same-frame accuracy with instant system failure fall-back across all connected devices via frame-data monitoring, reducing latency to a minimum. Verotec provided a custom size, thermally managed 1U 500 mm deep 19” rack mounting chassis comprising
formed steel base and top with extruded front and rear panels. After supplying production quantities of the basic hardware throughout 2019 to 7th Sense, the supply, assembly, wiring and test of the complete electro-mechanical sub-system has now been subcontracted to Verotec. Juggler is based on a FPGA motherboard, populated with mezzanine FMC cards that map the individual
inputs to outputs. The units as now supplied makes use of Verotec’s extensive in-house capabilities, with a machined and printed extruded rear panel and individual I/O panels with connectors and wiring, a power supply, thermal management, all functionally tested before despatch.
