RESET PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

MORE FLEXIBLE GEARBOXES

The shift towards new mobile hydraulic applications goes hand in hand with sophisticated and commercially effective systems, which are

PowerGear miniature bevel gearboxes are compact, yet capable of transferring considerable levels of torque at high speed and with high efficiency. They are robust and designed to be maintenance free, suitable for applications that require high power density and excellent reliability. They are lightweight and can be used in mobile applications. The range is manufactured by MS- Graessner and available in the UK through Drive Lines Technologies. Design features include a case-hardened bevel gear tooth system, a friction locked shaft and bevel gear fit, and an extremely lightweight aluminium housing. This ensures low backlash and high transmission accuracy, alongside an energy efficiency of 98 per cent. Lubrication is based on long-life maintenance-free synthetic oil. PowerGear Miniature is available in three sizes. The smallest, P27 has a footprint of 27mm2

ratio options, 1:1 and 1.5:1, with a nominal output torque of 3.5Nm. The larger P33 and the P45 are available with five ratio options, 1:1, 1.5:1, 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1, and they have nominal output torques of 5Nm and 16Nm. The input speed for all of them is up to 7,500rpm. A Gleason gear tooth profile optimises the contact pattern throughout the tooth to tooth engagement cycle, so that the load is uniformly spread, enabling high torque performance. www.drivelines.co.uk

capable of mastering the challenges of the toughest conditions. With their adaptable and high performance gearboxes, Stiebel Drives are developing technologies that score in terms of energy balance. The Stiebel type 4652 transfer gearbox,

which is used in mobile tracked drilling rigs, is an example of this. The massive casing ribbing, and the geometric offset of the drive/take-off shafts, deliver an improved energy balance. This normally renders an additional oil cooler unnecessary. With its Pmax of 700kW, T2max of 3300Nm and maximum rotational speed nmax of 2,500min-1, sustainable and economical drilling operations are supported. www.stiebel-drives.com

ROBOLINK D MODULAR KIT WITH PLASTIC GEARING

igus has expanded its robolink D modular kit with strainwave gearing in two sizes. The gearing, which is available as an individual component, or with an integrated NEMA17 or NEMA23 stepper motor, consists of an outer ring gear and a flexible wear-resistant inner ring gear, made of iglidur high-performance plastic. The worm wheels for the

new transmission ratios 1:30 and 1:70 of the robolink D worm gear also use iglidur materials. For these, igus offers a decoupled option of motor and joint. The two components are connected to each other by an aluminium profile and the result is better weight distribution on the axis, enabling heavier loads to be lifted. The new universal gripper adapter allows the attachment of different grippers on the robolink D joints. In addition, the online configurator allows users to configure and assemble custom robolink D joints. igus

Hainbuch has now developed its new MANDO G211 segmented mandrel system with a slim interference contour. Acquiring ‘in-stock’ segmented clamping bushes, the rigid and narrow mandrel system offers an optimised tool run-out contour that is suitable for use in gear cutting applications. Furthermore, the new MANDO G211 can be applied to gear shaping, or grinding operations, and has three end-stop levels that are placed with different proximity to the workpiece. This makes it possible to use individual workpiece end-stops. Hainbuch has covered all bases by also developing a coolant connection to ensure complete process reliability for the end user. Whether you design the machine connection to suit your specific needs,

or whether you want a complete solution, Hainbuch has the answer. The workholding specialists can extend the program to the quick change-over system to ensure the customer profits from fast and effective radial clamping that uses the proven pull-back effect to increase rigidity. By using this effect, the machining performance is enhanced through improved repeatability, accuracy and reduced vibration.
