Advertorial BSEE The Do’s and Don’ts around Construction Boundary Monitoring

re you managing the impact of your construction site? Boundary monitoring can identify potential hazards, ensure compliance

and protect the public from jobsite hazards Construction dust can compromise air quality,

environmental noise pollution can be harmful to workers and local residents, and excessive vibration can have damaging consequences. Alongside the human cost to health, fines of up to £20,000 ($30,000) per violation are possible if preventable noise and dust exceed agreed emissions levels, and penalised companies may pay the additional price of reputational damage. Site management has a duty of care to protect against potentially

dangerous conditions. However, this can be challenging to manage without reliable data streams and instrumentation that gathers environmental information. Monitoring for noise, dust, vibration and harmful emissions makes it possible to manage the impact of your construction site. Boundary monitoring can support construction site control by minimising potential contamination, protecting the public from jobsite hazards and allowing for adherence to the appropriate public health requirements. Consequently, more companies are turning to boundary monitoring technology to measure the risks and ensure they adhere to environmental limits and guidelines. To help site management teams make the most of the technology,

Tim Turney, Global Marketing Manager at occupational health and workplace hazard monitoring expert Casella, shares the Do’s and Don’ts of boundary monitoring.

New generation Ultimate2 system from Omnie speeds lowbuild UFH installation

H

eating and renewables specialist OMNIE has once again developed an advanced solution to speed the installation of low

build height underfloor heating (UFH), which also fits within its Tileover selection and offers significant cost savings. Further enhancing the established Ultimate

system, the Ultimate2 board consists of XPS insulation – improving output while the unique 23 mm deep diffuser channel surrounding the multidirectional runs increases screed contact with the pipe, thus cutting the warmup time. The overall installed depth of just 27mm leaves plenty of room for tiles to be laid on top without the need to trim doors or skirting in retrofit situations.

The upper surface is preprimed so the RS

Flex leveling screed can be directly applied to achieve a strong bond; while the preglued lower surface – with peeloff backing – ensures the panel can be rapidly installed across the subfloor without the need to apply additional adhesive. Together these features mean Ultimate2 is

50% faster to install than its predecessor and 35% cheaper overall than screeded systems featuring castellated plates.

OMNIE’s multidirectional pipe pattern

reduces the need for routing by the installer, as well as eliminating the requirement for separate straight and loopshaped panels. In addition the 300 k Pa compressive strength greatly reduces movement and will support timber, vinyl and other finishes as well as tiles.

Read the latest at: www.bsee.co.uk Overall, OMNIE has created a costeffective and

more efficient UFH system in Ultimate2 by simply evolving its already popular Ultimate system, as the strapline for the new offering succinctly puts it, “In hindsight we wouldn’t have called it the Ultimate. Because we just made it better.”
