DANFOSS D

anfoss is leading the digital transformation of HVAC systems with its modular hydronic solutions designed to improve energy efficiency and system performance in commercial buildings. As sustainability becomes a priority,

smart buildings require adaptable, data-driven systems to manage heating and cooling more effectively. Danfoss Digital Hydronics™ offers an advanced, modular approach, combining hydronic balancing with precise temperature control through pressure-independent control valves (PICVs) and digital actuators. This seamless integration allows building managers to remotely monitor system performance, optimize energy consumption, and adjust settings in real-time based on live data.

A key component of this innovative portfolio is the AB-QM 4.0 PICV, an evolution of Danfoss’ pioneering control valve for HVAC applications. With a unique valve authority of 100%, it delivers unmatched accuracy in flow regulation and control, significantly improving the energy efficiency of heating and cooling systems. Available in multiple sizes and configurations, the AB-QM 4.0 is highly versatile and easy to install. Its clogging-resistant design, along with features like bi-directional flushing and precise flow measurement, make it ideal for various HVAC applications such as fan coil units and chilled beams. When paired with Danfoss digital actuators like NovoCon®, the AB-QM 4.0 becomes a powerful tool for smart buildings, enabling real-time data collection on both flow and temperature. This data-driven approach allows for proactive system management, ensuring optimal indoor climate conditions and reducing energy waste. Danfoss’ digital hydronic solutions pave the way for a more sustainable future, helping buildings operate efficiently while maintaining comfort and performance standards.

The new Danfoss AB-QM 4.0 introduces next level value for your PICV designs:

• Win tenders with its outstanding specifi cations and easy installation • Experience superior quality with its unique reliability and robustness • Add connectivity and data with the NovoCon® S high accuracy digital actuator for BMS control

• Benefi t from the lowest cost of ownership and improve the project ROI by increased rental value

ith a COP of 4.36 – one of the highest on the market for a small heat pump – and an Energy Rated Performance (ErP) of A+++,

the Shoebox NX is incredibly efficient and, therefore, cheap to run. Co-efficient of Performance (COP) benchmarks heat pump quality and efficiency. The heat pump harnesses naturally occurring

renewable energy and concentrates this into a high temperature to provide heating and hot water to a dwelling. For every 1kW of electricity used to run the heat pump, over 4kW of heat is produced – making the Shoebox NX over 400% efficient. It delivers hot water up to 64℃ and can even be configured to provide passive cooling in the summer months, a valuable feature for combatting overheating, particularly in high-rise buildings. The Shoebox NX is a compact powerhouse with a modern and stylish design, making it a premium product. It can be tucked away in a kitchen or airing cupboard, and its pared-back footprint frees up vital storage space in a home.

Suitable for new builds and retrofits, the Shoebox NX will turbocharge the widescale adoption of ground source heat pumps in the UK with its compact dimensions and exceptional efficiency. The product is perfectly compatible with Networked Heat Pumps, the 21st-century gas grid alternative that could reduce the UK’s gas usage by 70% (£25bn per year). Networked Heat Pumps encompass two or more

ground source heat pumps and a distribution system, creating a balanced heating and cooling solution for multiple properties, entire communities and beyond. A heat pump in each property connected to shared renewable infrastructure allows individual households autonomy over their heating bills. Networked Heat Pumps are the best type of low- carbon heating because they are highly efficient, flexible, scalable and sustainable. They are ideally suited for large-scale installations, including terraced streets, tower blocks, and new build developments – comprising over 60% of UK housing.
