Save space and improve handling with new Upton boiler pipework kits
H
amworthy’s popular space saving Upton boiler is now available with improved pipework kits. Taking on board feedback from
customers, Hamworthy has made a number of changes including reducing size and weight, and adding eyelets for easier delivery and handling. The Upton modular vertically stacking boiler is
known for its space saving ability – over 1MW output is possible from a one metre squared boiler footprint. To support installation the Upton can come with pipework kits that have a choice of options such as matched boiler pumps and low loss headers with integrated air and dirt separators. The latest improvements to the pipework kit include: • Reduced size and clearances • Reduced weight • Simpler pump installation – now comes with a Wilo Yonos Maxo pump • New bracket with eyelets for easier transport and handling with a forklift truck Andy Dabin, Product Manager for Hamworthy
Heating, comments: “We have worked closely with staff and customers on the new pipework kit design to improve access and handling, from transportation to siting in the plant room. The new matched pumps are simpler to install and easier to access for setup. We’re known for our space saving modular boilers and the new pipework kits”

Building on the success of the tried and
trusted Pressgun 5, the new models incorporate intelligent connectivity that enables them to link wirelessly to a smartphone and provide enhanced functionality, such as information on battery levels, current pressings and number of pressings remaining before the maintenance interval is reached.
aking press connection technology to the next level, Viega has upgraded its Pressgun suite of products to make piping
Accessed via the Viega Tool Services app,
users can also select the pressing mode, choosing between the default Viega AutoCycle and Viega SmartCycle, which presses the connection in two stages to allow inspection prior to completing the pressing. Further functions available in the app include usage controls and antitheft protection, which enable the tool to be deactivated when it reaches a pre determined number of pressings or is removed from a set geographical area. Engineered for ease of use, the new
generation of Pressguns also benefit from an improved ergonomic design.

oval has launched UltraGas® 2, the latest generation of
gas condensing boilers, which brings even higher efficiency to the popular features of the first UltraGas® generation. UltraGas® 2 models are available with output ratings from 125kW to 1550kW (250kW to 3,100kW as a double boiler), and in 10 bar versions for 720, 1100 and 1550kW units. UltraGas® 2 boilers are designed for easy integration with existing
systems and have the ability to work with any flow/return temperature difference (Delta T) for optimum flexibility. With a maximum operating temperature of 95Deg.C they are ideal for use in district heating/heat networks applications, and can also operate on biomethane and hydrogen. At the heart of the new design is the patented Hoval TurboFer® heat
exchanger, which combines a unique design with special injection technology to generate turbulence on the heating gas side. This turbulence increases heat transfer and boosts efficiency by as much as 20% compared to conventional gas boilers. Other UltraGas® features include high and low temperature return
flow, a large water capacity, the Ultraclean® combustion system and the TopTronic® E system controller.

Ovia adds Self Test Emergency Pack to commercial lighting range
The Aquarea air source heat pump A
s many of us get used to the reality of spending more time at home, the benefits of having a quiet, yet extremely efficient heating and domestic hot water system have become more obvious.
Switching technologies from traditional systems powered by Mains Gas, Oil or L.P.G. to an Air
Source Heat Pump can deliver significant cost savings, improvements to heating performance and low sound levels, thanks to Panasonic’s Aquarea Heat Pump Range this is possible. According to independent tests, the Panasonic Aquarea J Generation R32 Mini Monobloc range and 16kW BiBloc TCap Super Quiet airto water heat pumps have been confirmed to have impressively low levels of noise when in operation. The independent testing was carried out by the Danish Technological Institute in Denmark with results confirming that the new Aquarea Monobloc 5kW, 7kW and 9kW SuperQuiet Bibloc 16kW TCAP Aquarea Airtowater heat pumps came out with market leading low noise levels, with 60dB(A)1 whilst operating at full load. The tests were carried out for the sound power level according to EN 121021:2017 for full load and Quiet mode 3 at A7/W55. In Quiet mode operation, Aquarea heat pumps can operate at a further 4dB(A) reduced noise level. Aquarea A2W Heat Pumps are proving popular with developers looking to provide
highly efficient heating and hot water, whilst also providing homeowners with a reliable system offering longterm energy savings. Ivor Farnworth, Managing Director of Primrose Developments commented “We recently looked into several systems but found the Panasonic Aquarea TCap heat pumps to be very quiet compared to competitors, aesthetically pleasing and have been impressed with the performance of the product.”

Toshiba Carrier’s New Manufacturing Subsidiary in Europe Starts Product Shipment
o., in Gniezno, Poland, has commenced operation and is now manufacturing and shipping products. Toshiba Carrier is an air conditioning joint venture in Japan between Toshiba Corporation and Carrier Global Corporation.
T The 17,700sq m factory is situated in
approximately 37,000sq m land and manufactures commercial AC, heating, and air towater equipment for Europe. Toshiba Carrier now has six HVAC equipment manufacturing bases, including this new subsidiary in Poland, two in Japan, and one in Thailand, China, and India. The Europe HVAC segment continues to
grow, driven by solid demands for energy efficient HVAC products to address various environmental goals and regulations in each country. Europe is also witnessing strong sales of heating and hot water supply equipment using heat pumps, or airtowater (ATW) equipment as an alternative for heating and hot water supply equipment using gas and other conventional boilers. The new manufacturing base is expected to allow Toshiba Carrier to reduce product lead
times and bolster its product lineup catering to particular needs in Europe, and as a result boost sales of Toshibabrand products and its business growth outside Japan. “It is a great pleasure to announce the start of shipments from TCAE, thanks to the warm support we have received from the local community”, said Toru Kubo, President & CEO of Toshiba Carrier. “Our aim is to contribute to

lighting offer and has now introduced a self test version of its 4W Universal Emergency Pack.
O This addition to the
Ovia commercial lighting product portfolio means there is now a standard and selftest option to cover all emergency installation requirements for the company’s growing range of LED panels and AluPanel downlights. The key benefit of the self test
emergency pack is to prevent the need for ongoing maintenance and the associated labour and costs involved. In the event of mains fail it will provide emergency lighting for three hours at a lower light.
the minimum requirement of the BS5266 standard that applies to emergency lighting. The selftest pack will check the emergency

ermec is now providing all UK customers including Northern Ireland, with a
free twoyear warranty. “Aermec doesn’t just sell HVAC
systems, we build relationships and have a strong HVAC technology platform designed to help customers maximise their investments whilst addressing environmental concerns” says Paul Lawrence, Managing Director for Aermec UK. Aermec is always looking to
add value, extending the length of our warranties enables us to increase our customer engagement. Buyers can purchase our ranges of AHUs, chillers and heat pumps with confidence,” adds, David Evans, Aermec’s General Sales Manager.
Aermec’s twoyear warranty will be applicable from the date of delivery to site or 18 months from commissioning. It helps to reduce the risks when it comes to equipment and labour costs and offers customers protection through the coverage of replacement parts and the cost of labour. If customers then wish to
extend beyond the twoyear period, a PPM package from Aermec will need to be in place and contracted to carry out any service and maintenance. Longer warranties can also be provided.
