WHAT’S NEW New Click LED dimmer switches from Scolmore

colmore continues to invest in new product development for its wiring accessories ranges and this has led to the launch of a new range of trailing edge LED dimmer switches. Following feedback from contractors, all Click one to four gang, furnished wiring accessories plates are now available with an LED dimmer fitted as standard. The problems of flickering and poor dimming range are welldocumented issues for installers when it comes to LED dimmers. The new Click trailing edge LED dimmer switches will eliminate flickering. They allow a minimum brightness level to be

S

programmed, which means the installer can set the required illumination at 0% travel and/or eliminate the flickering that is commonly experienced at the lower end of LED dimming. The dimmer can dim LED loads up to 100W or a maximum of 10 lamps. The Click wiring accessories ranges

benefiting from this feature include Mode, Polar, Deco, Deco+, Define and Definity and these are offered in a range of finishes to provide installers with a comprehensive selection of dimmers and finishes for any installation.

leading supplier of fire protection products, ESP is constantly developing solutions and offering advice on ways

to keep up to date with the latest requirements. Here, product manager, Matt Parton, answers some simple questions about fire alarm zone plans.

What is a fire alarm zone plan? A zone plan is a layout of a building highlighting the areas of fire detection zones. The main purpose of a zone plan is to be able to immediately identify where any potential fire may have occurred. A zone plan shows the layout of the building and clearly highlights the separate fire alarm zones to help evacuations in an emergency situation.

The zone plan should also include: • Building levels • Escape routes and final exits (exits that open out into a place of safety, such as a car park or concourse)

• Circulation areas (corridors, stairs, lifts etc) • A “You are here” sign so that visitors and employees can map out their exit route

LEDVANCE launches street lamps for retrofit solutions

welllit to be enjoyed by all LEDVANCE have launched a new

T

range of OSRAM NAV LED retrofit lamps to provide impressive street lighting in replacement of high pressure sodium vapour lamps (NAV). The OSRAM NAV LEDs offer an

efficient LED alternative in terms of consumption and maintenance, leading to efficient light, lower costs and simple replacement. The range is the perfect retrofit solution for the direct replacement of conventional NAV lamps in pedestrian zones, parks, area lighting solutions and streets. OSRAM NAV LED retrofit lamps offer a very high efficiency of up to 185 lm/W with a lifetime of up to 50,000 hours. There is potential for additional savings through compatibility with CCGs (conventional control gears) and igniters without additional rewiring, leading to the opportunity for nighttime switching and dimming during hours of low traffic density. The lamps consume up to 52% less energy than conventional highpressure sodium vapour lamps, whilst still offering a similar light distribution. The lamps also come with IP40 protection and high surge protection of up to 4kV.

delayed due to Covid19 last year. But we have been operating for over nine months now and have seen our business go from strength to strength.” Rapid Energy approached ACV to purchase their ETech electric boiler range for trolley mounted boiler hire, fulfilling a demand predominantly in the construction sector. Sami went on to say, “ACV was already front of mind prior to the supplier selection phase. We were impressed with the service we received and how efficient they were at responding to our questions during the selection process. We conducted market research with professionals that use electric boilers. ACV were regularly cited during those conversations, so it was clear they had a trustworthy name and an excellent reputation”
