SPONSORS INSTALLATION NEWS

May 2021 saw Helec Ltd hand over a prepackaged “EnSmart” energy centre to The Formation Group’s Berol Yard residential new build scheme in Tottenham, North London.

Work on the project had begun in March 2020. When the Coronavirus pandemic struck,

Helec responded to the challenge by safely continuing to build the whole plant room off-site without slowing down the completion of the 167 apartments. By this time, the main shell and the core build stage of the new residential complex was well under way.

As Helec had already committed to procuring the main bulk of mechanical and electrical equipment and pipework components, the local build team were able to safely continue working socially distanced, within a

“local bubble”, building the sub frames and boiler skids, along with all the required duty pump sets, water filtration kit and all the electrical plug and play connections.

Helec’s pre-packaged plant rooms can be produced in any size and are designed and constructed off-site, reducing the need for “hot works”, the number of staff required on site, any potential health and safety hazards, and the number of deliveries to a restricted location, meaning there is also less noise and reduced NOx pollution from delivery vehicles.

The Arab Potash Company is primarily involved in harvesting minerals from the Dead Sea and is the sole Arab producer and the eighth largest potash producer worldwide. Luceco in partnership with energy partner MEMCO Jordan designed a lighting solution to meet the challenging industrial environment.

The luminaires supplied were specially customised with a marine grade finish to withstand the harsh conditions and included the Amnis Flood and Via Street Light from Kingfisher Lighting, part of the Luceco PLC Group, and the Eris HighBay and Guardian Pro Floodlights. The Amnis Pro is a robust luminaire engineered from precision die-cast aluminium and hosts an aerofoil heatsink system for enhanced performance. With improved lumen maintenance using MIRCO-Silver Reflector Technology, Amnis offers a high-performance, low glare output and outstanding efficiency with a luminaire efficacy of up to 133.3 lm/W and is capable of producing up to

105,000 luminaire lumens at 4000K with a CRI>70. Amnis is ideal for most high mast applications, is rated at IP66 and IK08 and offers 100,00 hours operational life. Eris is a modern and slim IP65 rated luminaire, with die-cast aluminium body and polycarbonate lens optic with a 120-degree beam angle as standard for optimum performance. Eris comes in 100W, 150W, 200W and 240W and is supplied complete with a hook for suspension mounting. 0ptions include 13500 - 32400 lumen output variants delivering 135Llm/cW and is available with 60, 90- and 120-Degree aluminium reflector accessories.

A network of 27 dental practices operating mainly in Yorkshire and the North East has started a programme to install Panasonic’s nanoeTM X technology to enhance protection for patients and staff whenever new air conditioning units are required or where units need to be replaced.

Riverdale Healthcare was established in 2018, acquiring Alpha Dental Group which has a long- standing relationship with Sub-Zero Climate Control, who have installed and maintained air conditioning through the dental practice network. Sub Zero came to the rescue by recommending the Etherea range of air conditioners which come with Panasonic’s proven nanoe™ X technology built in. nanoe™ X technology collects invisible moisture in the air and applies a high voltage to it to generate hydroxyl radicals contained in water. Hydroxyl radicals (nature’s detergent) inhibit the growth of certain viruses, bacteria and allergens. Contained in tiny water particles, nanoe™ X generates

particles that have a long lifespan and can spread over long distances. Recent, independent testing shows that nanoe™ X can inhibit certain types of bacteria and viruses, meaning the new air conditioning system can help protect patients and staff alike whilst in the dentist practice. Everyone has faced huge changes and challenges in the last 12 months, particularly the dental sector. We have always tried to be innovative as a company and be in a position to offer the best solutions to our customers to suit their needs and we feel we have achieved this by using Panasonic nanoe™ X technology.

A brandnew care home development in Kent has invested in BoilerMag technology to protect its heating system and plant room from a buildup problem of ferrous oxide and scale.

NCC Mechanical Services Choose BoilerMag XL Installation for £6.6m Bostal Group Development The Bostal Group developed West Hill Care Home offers a modern care

facility with en-suite accommodation, catering for residents with dementia, physical disability, sensory impairment and younger adults requiring round- the-clock care.

To protect the plant, NCC installed two BoilerMag XL 1 ½ inch magnetic filters within the rooftop plant room. Ideal for medium-sized commercial, retail or large residential properties, the cost-effective BoilerMag XL prevents the build-up of debris in central heating systems, reducing energy bills and increasing boiler life.

The West Hill project brought about its challenges as NCC Mechanical Services needed to fit the required plant into a compact plant room that also had strict limits on the weight and location of heavy plant items. The BoilerMag XL’s dual-flow technology allows for water to filter twice on the first pass, removing virtually 100% of magnetic and non-magnetic debris from the system and saving much-needed space with its relatively compact design. With a stainless-steel construction and 10-year warranty, the XL offers effective, long lasting protection for commercial heating systems.
