ebruary seems to have come around faster than expected- from Christmas to Valentine’s Day in the blink of an eye! In that time, our world has seen some devastating effects of natural force with the wildfires raging through Australia, alongside the worrying political actions that have been taken. Perhaps this is a good time to be studying the differences between hot and cold and the dangers of going from one to the other too suddenly- though perhaps that’s more a warning for the emotions of certain world leaders…

explanations of ideas for the future of how residential areas may be planned and the impact that will have. One such company is a rail and property project organiser, MTR, which acquires the land on which it proposes to build a rail line, it then creates a masterplan to build integrated communities alongside them. MTR considers the development of the property holistically with the rail projects from day one. This approach of combining travel with daily life is appealing in so many ways, considering the impact of reducing car travel and therefore pollution levels and the social benefits.


The adventure of the future of our industry is quantified by the brilliant events taking place in the


coming months. Futurebuild, which will be taking place this year on 3rd-5th March at the ExCeL, promises to showcase 450 innovative and inspiring brands and bring together 27,000 industry influencers and shapers to drive real change and offer brilliant networking opportunities. While from the 8th to the 13th of March, Frankfurt once again hosts the inspirational Light & Building fair. This year, the programme of events has been restructured into four main categories: Emotion, Selection, Skills and Career – making it easier for visitors to orientate themselves by areas of interest and take part in the programme in line with their individual goals.
