IN FOCUS Refresh for ADSA Academy T
he ADSA Academy – the online learning platform for members of the
Automatic Door Suppliers Industry – has undergone a radical revamp with improved levels of functionality and personalisation. The site, which boasts more
than 60 courses – free of charge and pay per click, is now easier to navigate and will enable the Association to create and host more industry- specific content. The changes have been implemented to give learners “greater ownership” and features a personalised dashboard to support continuous professional development and aid navigation. There is also a new look and feel - bringing the Academy in line with ADSA’s corporate identity and design style. The upgrade will also enable ADSA to streamline in-house processes: the platform boasts enhanced security features to support the management of member data, records and course bookings. ADSA MD Ken Price said that the decision to improve the facility came about as part of a continuous review of ADSA processes and output. The Academy was first launched in 2019 and although additional course content was added over the years, it remained “fundamentally the same”. “It was time for us to refresh the platform and technology advancements have given us a chance to make fundamental improvements which will also support future growth and development,” he said. The new Academy will launch this month (July) with a roll-out of enhancements over the next few weeks. For existing users, new login credentials will be issued but learning records and certifications will be migrated to the new site. In addition to improved personalisation – including user learning history and performance records –
the site also has better configuration on mobile devices. Over the past five years, more than 3000 people have used the online platform - completing an average of three courses per person, totalling in excess of 9000 completed courses. Added Ken: “As our membership has grown, so has use of our Academy. We have seen a growth of
over 20 per cent, year-on-year, since its introduction. Many members now consider its free of charge content to be essential CPD for their teams.” For more information of ADSA membership contact:

Elta Expands Air Handling Unit Options with New Euroclima Partnership
E
lta is increasing its capacity to provide more bespoke air handling solutions than ever before. Ventilation professionals can now choose from an expansive range of design options for air handling units. The new additions sit alongside Elta’s existing air design units thanks to a new
partnership between Elta and Euroclima, a leading manufacturer of Eurovent Certified air handling units. Air handling units play a crucial role in modern commercial buildings as noted in several building regulations. Ventilation consultants can work with Elta to ensure clean, energy-efficient air processing essential for the comfort and safety of building occupants. The business partnership is particularly significant as it coincides with Elta’s 50th anniversary, highlighting a shared ongoing commitment to the ‘Air Quality, Air Movement’ and ‘We care for better air’ values between the two companies. David Millward, Group Product Manager at Elta Group, said: “We’re predicting a huge demand for air handling units as there is an increasing need for better air quality and energy efficiency. It’s no longer a viable option to simply move air around buildings, so working with Euroclima means that both entities are ideally poised to support ventilation professionals with the evolution of air quality.” Josef Prünster, Area Sales Manager at Euroclima, added: “We are excited about this collaboration
with Elta Group which aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver superior air handling units that exceed industry standards. Together, we look forward to setting new benchmarks in air quality and energy efficiency across the region.” For more on Elta, see

New high temperature heat pump offers even more possibilities
M
itsubishi Electric has announced the launch of a
new high temperature water-to-water heat pump which reduces the global warming potential (GWP) by 56% over the previous models. The EW-HT-G05 upgrades the popular EW-HT range and uses non-flammable refrigerant R134a (GWP100 = 573 as per AR5), which has an ASHRAE A1 safety class. This enables customers to easily replace antiquated fossil fuel heating systems by building a complete cascade system that utilizes the same refrigerant throughout. Available in four sizes to offer 73kW to 130kW, the units include two independent refrigerant circuits
and a unique plate heat exchanger to provide water temperatures up to 78°C. The dual circuits allow customers to separate their Low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) circuit – used for Space Heating, from the Hot Water Circuit used for Domestic Hot Water (DHW). The EW-HT is designed with a compact footprint for indoor placement, installation is straightforward,
and the independent circuits mean it can operate in part load to improve efficiency during low-demand periods. Several options are also available such as touch screen display, refrigerant leak detection and Master-Client group controls. With a wide operating envelope, the EW-HT can support a range of commercial applications by interfacing between the LTHW circuit and the DHW circuit. Units can also be harmonised with the INTEGRA range of Simultaneous Heating & Cooling equipment (4-pipe) for residential and commercial buildings, industrial process heat recovery (including IT Cooling) and district heating systems.
