VEXO is a committed designer, manufacturer and supplier of high quality side stream filtration and dosing units and water treatment chemicals, which originated in 2010. After three years of product development, trialling and testing, VEXO’s product range was brought to market in 2013. Since then, VEXO has continued to attract customers with its excitingly unique approach to managing excellent water quality in closed heating, cooling and condenser water systems.

EXO is managed by four co-directors and is currently supported by three regional business development managers and an


administrator. This extremely pro-active VEXO team manages to reach a very large cross-section of customers, not only BSS Industrial, it’s single UK distributor (including Eire), but also almost all the UK’s leading MEP contractors and consultants, end users including local authorities, FM contractors and specialist water treatment companies.


Internationally VEXO also supplies its products though single distributors in the USA (including Canada and Mexico) and South-East Asia.


VEXO Director, Paul Hanrahan, explains more about the organisation’s structure: “We are a relatively small, but very fast-growing company and our sales continue to increase year on year. “In light of increased sales and end user customers we plan to increase our team of Business Development Managers across the UK regions later this year. We have relatively no direct competitors in the Side Stream Filtration marketplace as we believe our X-POT Units are totally unique because of their all-in-one multiple features. “However, the Water Treatment Chemical market is much busier but due to our investment in independent trials, BUILDCERT approval and Energy Savings Trust accreditation, amongst other things, our range of water treatment chemicals sit at the top end of the quality ladder but are also very competitively priced and readily available nationwide through BSS Industrial.

filtration and dosing unit designs are relatively simplistic yet they also break tradition. All of our products are sold through BSS Industrial the UK's market- leading distributor of pipeline and heating solutions and some of which are now BOSS branded to knit into the premium BSS range – this alone reflects the true quality of our equipment.” VEXO is best known for its assortment of side stream filtration and dosing units (currently 18 different models up to 25 Bar max working pressure also available with auto dosing and vacuum degassing) for heating, cooling and condenser water systems.


VEXO’s most significant product line is the BOSS X-POT side stream filtration and dosing unit which is unique to the MEP market. As an all-in-one solution it incorporates air separation, dirt separation, magnetic filtration and a dosing pot, making it a perfect all-in- one single component for water treatment in closed systems.


Product of the Year award


BOSS X-POT units are constructed from polished stainless steel and are fully compliant with BSRIA BG50 & BG29 guidelines and PED 2014/68/EU. The X- POTs have done remarkably well; more than 2,000 units have been installed in the UK since 2013 and against large name competition, our innovation deservedly won the H&V News Commercial Building Services Product of the Year Award in 2015. Having established technical relationships with the majority of leading MEP Consultants, VEXO X-POTs are currently being specified and installed on some of London’s current landmark super high-rise projects where working pressures of 25 Bar are not uncommon. Similarly, in Kuala Lumpur, VEXO X-POTs are specified on two of the tallest buildings currently under construction in Malaysia – again 25 Bar working pressures are the norm. That said, VEXO X-POTs are also being retro-fitted the length and breadth of the UK where poor quality heating and cooling systems are common and conventional approaches are not achieving the desired quality. For example, local authorities are specifying VEXO X-POTs more and more particularly due to cost and ease of installation without the need to drain down, isolate or interrupt normal system operation. The improvements to the existing water quality are also immediate.
