EDITOR’S COMMENT & CONTENTS Clean Air for a Clear Future
A
s the vaccine rollout becomes another accepted and expected part of our lives, so too does the understanding that improving air quality in our public and social buildings is a key factor to protection in the future. Across several of the features in this issue, the importance of recognising the impact of buildings on the health of occupants is a prominent theme, including our Focus on Educational Services and our Environmental Awareness page in which Carrier introduces its Healthy Buildings Program, an expanded suite of advanced solutions to help deliver healthy, safe, efficient and productive indoor environments across key verticals including commercial buildings, healthcare, hospitality, education and retail.
Our Energy Management feature this month is one of our largest, with comments and advice from some of the biggest names in the industry, including ABB, Schneider Electric, CHP and Sontay, covering topics including the importance of CO2 monitoring and how to bring affordable energy to hospitals.
Along with our usual enlightening comment from the BCIA’s Terry Sharp, who this month is taking a look at how emerging technologies, along with the impact of coronavirus, will influence the technology that goes into modern buildings; we also have inspirational comment pieces from the ECA and Bosch’s Pete Mills.
