BUBBLE DETECTING SENSORS PROTECT PUMPS FROM UNWANTED DOWNTIME
H
ynred has introduced two infrared imaging products offering oil and gas facility operators a range of solutions to effectively detect and inspect methane leaks, enhancing their capabilities in adhering to recently updated and stricter greenhouse gas emission rules. EOLE and PICO640S Broad Band are innovations that demonstrate Lynred’s ability to address the revised needs in the energy sector and deliver effective and accessible solutions. EOLE, a high-performance, VGA resolution, low power consumption IR detector, is the first product Lynred is launching in this new suite of IR detectors targeting methane and other Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) applications. It was developed to meet the new regulatory requirements and designed for easy integration into imaging systems. Lynred’s lower cost solution, PICO640S

elping to protect pumps from running dry and detecting even the tiniest bubbles in flow control applications is a good example of where system
engineers need to prevent unwanted and expensive downtime due to pump malfunction caused by unwanted gas inclusions. The development of the PAD20 sensor (a finalist in the recent Food Tec Awards) is a good example of the innovative range of sensors available from Baumer. This ‘smart’ sensor helps to protect pumps from running dry whilst also helping to ensure maximum system performance and optimum use of resources. However, the PAD20 sensor is not only good at protecting pumps as reliable detection of gas bubbles also optimises the energy efficiency of cooling and heating systems in industrial applications. The sensor has the ability to measure air in all types of liquids regardless of whether liquids are pasty or viscous, reliably and fast. Another good example is where the sensor has helped a
major dairy manufacturer solve the decades old problem of containers not being fully emptied. In summary, PAD20 sensors are an effective, robust solution for detecting air and gas bubbles in any liquid or viscous media such as fruit preparations, cooling agents (DC>1.5) and particularly in harsh ambient conditions. Switching outputs are individually adjustable with IO-Link for definition of switching range, or two-stage alarms (early warning) and they provide optional multi- colour process visualisation through 360º of switching state.

INFRARED IMAGING DETECTORS FOR OPTICAL GAS IMAGING APPLICATIONS
Broad Band, enables 24/7 area-wide monitoring of high-risk sites to detect anomalies outside of quarterly inspection operations. It will be available for sampling in 2025.
Both IR detector models cover a wide range of OGI applications, such as handheld and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) inspections and Continuous Monitoring Systems. Due to their great compactness, both models are compatible with portable and fixed cameras, including drone cameras. By providing solutions that aid operators in detecting, localizing and quantifying leaks, such as a gas formation cloud, EOLE enables the identification of even slight leaks, consequently triggering rapid repairs.
