WHY IS BALANCE AND SCALE CALIBRATION IMPORTANT?

fundamental questions: M

1. What is calibration and why should I calibrate? 2. What are the benefits of balance calibration? 3. How often do I have to calibrate my balance and what are the risks of not calibrating? 4. Which tolerances apply to balance calibration? 5. Is there a difference between calibration and adjustment? 6. My scales are legal for trade, do I still need to calibrate? 7. Why is measurement uncertainty so important? 8. How do I ensure accurate weighing results? 9. Why is it a risk to use non-calibrated Instruments? 10. Why is METTLER TOLEDO – The Right Calibration Partner? 11. What is the correct way to handle test weights? 12. Is routine testing needed between calibration intervals?

Behind each question, you will find a selection of white papers, guides and webinars relating to the calibration of your weighing equipment.

NEW LOW-COST BLACKBODY FOR THERMAL IMAGING SYSTEMS

unprecedented global demand for Thermometer Calibration. With the higher quantities required, we have been able to make cost savings and improved manufacturing efficiency. We have listened to our customers and the result is a new 989 model that is smaller and easier to mount, a wider temperature range and a PC interface. Response time is very fast, typically less

MX FLOW METERS OFFER VERSATILITY

AND DURABILITY IN ALL ENVIRONMENTS M

acnaught have added several new models and accessories to their MX Oval Gear Flow meter range for hazardous environments as well as safe environments.

Oval gear flow meters measure the volumetric flow rate of a moving fluid, the two rotating oval gears divide the material into fixed, metered volumes. They have been widely recognised as one of the most versatile, accurate flow measurement solutions that are not affected by variations in temperature, viscosity, or pressure. Maintenance on these meters are minimal too because the moving parts inside the meter body are limited to the pair of robust oval gear rotors.

Models are constructed from aluminium, PPS and Stainless Steel and are available either threaded or flanged, offering a choice of construction materials ensures effective use in industrial applications with a wide range of fluid viscosities.. The MX Ex series offers an ideal solution for applications requiring accurate flow measurement in hazardous zoned areas. An inclusive range of M-Lock compatible rate, total and batching displays with outputs.

Macnaught is an Australian-owned designer and manufacturer of flow meters and fluid transfer instruments were first established in 1948, meaning over 70 years of flow experience. With their oval gear technology and revolutionary modular design, Macnaught’s MX Intrinsically Safe Industrial Meters are offering their clients their most advanced positive displacement oval gear flow meters. The MX Ex are ATEX approved, rated Ex ia IIC (Class 1 Zone 0), approved CSA and FM and manufactured from robust stainless steel (316). This allows oval gear technology to be used in applications requiring precise flow measurement in hazardous areas.

MX Ex flow meters are ideal for the precise transfer or dispensing of thin or viscous fluids, corrosive chemicals and non-conductive liquids in environments where there is the potential of exposure to flammable gases, or vapours. This operating principle means that the meters do not require flow conditioning or straight pipe runs and can be used in installations where space is limited without a detrimental effect on performance. The MX-Series meters can also be easily and efficiently dismantled, serviced and reassembled whilst still in the line, and without the need for any special tools or training.

MX Ex series are available in ¼” (8mm) up to 2” (50mm) with further M-Series model options to 4” 100mm and flow ranges from 0.005 to 1200 LPM and an accuracy of ±0.5%. They are equipped with Macnaught’s versatile M-Lock mounting system, allowing the pulsers and displays to be installed and exchanged in less than 15 seconds. Therefore, these oval gear flow meter displays can be replaced without having to disassemble the meter or remove it from service. A quarter turn is all that would be required to change pulse modules or replace this with an LCD Screen.
