heating equipment and are essential for achieving compliance with the latest Gas Safe Register guidance TB118 2018. The changes mean new test procedures are now required to keep service

The EZ650 simplifies the process for identifying a satisfactory earth, by combining a basic socket tester with an earth loop check that uses clear red/green LEDs, making it easy to interpret the results and see whether the earth loop value is within acceptable limits. The EZ650 socket and loop tester can be used on both 13A sockets and fused spurs to quickly identify a hazardous earth before starting work. CUBE RELAYS REMAIN POPULAR

vailable from specialist distributor, Switchtec, are a range of cube relays manufactured by Hongfa. The humble cube relay remains popular, due to its robust construction and simple design and, along with its interchangeability, Switchtec says it offers an excellent price to performance ratio in the range of six to 16 Amp PCB relay. Hongfa has invested heavily in the manufacture of the cube relay
which is in contrast to other manufacturers - some of which have reduced capacity, whilst others have withdrawn from manufacturing this style of relay completely. Today, the company produces 300 million cube relays annually. There are many applications for the cube relay, but the white goods
industry is still one of the largest, with other applications including electric and hybrid vehicles for onboard charging, electrical bed control in the health sector, HVAC for use in thermostats, robotics, remote RF control, and uninterruptible power supplies. Over the many years in
which the cube relay has been manufactured it is technically almost
unchanged and has become established as a go-to relay in numerous industrial applications. Hongfa’s portfolio of cube relays includes 12 variants from the HF3FA and HF3FF, rated at 10 Amp for general switching control; the HF7FF and HF7FD, rated at 12A for a higher performance, to the HF152F, offering a 16 Amp change over contact arrangement.
