Neurodiversity in engineering
Support for engineers and employers
Neurodivergence, such as ADHD, autism or dyslexia, can shape how people process information and experience the world.
Many neurodivergent engineers bring exceptional creativity, pattern‑spotting abilities and innovative approaches to complex challenges.
At the same time, traditional workplace expectations around communication, sensory environments or rapidly shifting priorities can create barriers.
There are an estimated 820,000 neurodivergent engineers in the UK.1
With greater understanding, everyone’s potential can be fully recognised and supported.
Foothold offers a range of neurodiversity resources to help every member of the engineering community thrive.
