he transition from internal combustion- powered vehicles to a new dawn of sustainable transport has proven one of the biggest engineering successes of our generation. According to the latest market insight, 215,000 pure-electric vehicles and 455,000 plug-in hybrids are now registered on UK roads. With the government’s recently-announced ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles from 2030, this number is expected to increase dramatically over the next decade.
