CABLING & CABLE MANAGEMENT SUPPLEMENT FEATURE
TAILORED TO RIBBON CABLES KDS-FB is a compact entry system which is designed for quick routing of industrial flat ribbon cables. This enables manufacturers to preconfigure machine enclosures and control cabinets without knowing the exact final wiring requirements. Sealing elements for different cables can simply be swapped later as required. The series includes four frame widths and different partitions for flat as well as round cables. The accompanying sealing elements are available for all common industrial flat cable sizes.
The ‘fish skin’ on the flat cable seals
mechanically surrounds the inserted flat cable and ensures optimum tolerance compensation and IP66 protection.
TIGHT FIT To complement all of these cable entry solutions, the KES series of gland plates enables the quick and safe entry of cables, pipes and tubes without connectors into cabinets and machine housings. KES plates provide IP66 ingress
protection without the need to specially fit and secure cables with screws. The robust polyamide frames filled with elastomer are placed on the outside of the cabinet or housing wall and fixed with screws onto 36mm x 112mm openings. The plates feature a low profile height of only 14mm. For a tool-less installation they can also be snapped on. In this case, the screw holes remain completely sealed, thanks to the layer of elastomer. KES plates are available in 24 variants designed for different maximum numbers of lines and cable diameters. Up to 32 cables (with various diameters
from 3.2 to 20.5mm) can be inserted in a confined space and are double sealed, thanks to the special construction of the conical grommets.
