NEW ANGLED LOCKING CABLE T
he newest connector in the IL13 family is ideal for when locking is
limited by space. Due to its angled construction, the
connector can be beneficially used with devices standing next to a wall or in table-top applications. The connector comes in four different
orientations to cater for any assembly position of the IEC inlet to which it is connected (top, down, left and right). In addition to the high variety of moulded cable/connector combinations, a rewireable connector is also available, allowing development of individual
cabling solutions according to customer needs. The rewireable connector is available in two versions; vertical and horizontal. All types are usable with any standard
IEC C14 inlet, locking without any additional mechanics. With the quality of the locking connection and the 200N typical pull out force, the company says that the new addition to the family ensures a reliable connection at all times. Three-in-one switch disconnector
Marechal Electric has launched its first separable switch disconnector, for easy use and space saving
E
VO is a switch, disconnector and plug in one. Its mechanism means that
opening and separation can take place, even if there is an overintensity or overvoltage default. With a classic switch disconnector, in the case of overintensity, the user can not be assured of the disconnection if the contacts melt. But with EVO, the breaking is visible because the product is separated in two parts. The rotary twist is a new safety
reflex - by aligning both ‘O’s, the two parts of the switch disconnector are put together without any powering. With a twist movement, the product can be turned to the ‘off’ position, which means that it is ready to be connected but there is no power going through. This creates a waterproof, unpowered product. The final twist movement puts the product in the ‘on’ position, which is powered but still watertight. The switch disconnector is suitable for
harsh environments, from -25 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius. With EVO, the separation shows
exactly if it is on or off, and is claimed to ensure 100 per cent safety during any maintenance operation. It is made of high quality products and offers

great flexibility in the most demanding applications in terms of hygiene, robustness and reliability. It can be used in all industries and is
particularly easy to install, with only a screwdriver. Its ergonomic design also makes handling and cleaning easier. In the interest of safety, access to the
active parts is made impossible, meaning that it can be manipulated without risk. The visible and detachable break guarantees the safe isolation of any low electrical circuit. The switch disconnector complies with
the IEC 60204-1 standard for machine safety, and is adapted for all motor plugging configuration up to six poles and earth.
Smartening up

he new product line-up will feature two types of smart power socket and a smart power adaptor,
allowing users to control their power with voice commands or via the BG Home app. The standalone app control means there is no need to
have a costly home hub installed, allowing residents to benefit from smart features without having to spend a high amount to get their property smart home ready. Both smart power sockets are double 13 amp, white
moulded sockets concentrating on allowing affordable smart home integration. The sockets are also easy to install and can be retrofitted into any standard 25mm back box. David Cleaver, senior product manager at BG
Electrical, says: “We developed this range to offer users an affordable entry into smart home integration, as well as giving them confidence that the devices are backed by a brand with over 70 years of experience in the market. “We have been progressing our range of double
sockets over the past few years, with USB and Wi-Fi versions, so adding a smart home capability is the next logical step. Although we have developed the socket and adaptor to work alone with our app, they will also be able to integrate with existing smart home systems, such as Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home.”
