Emergency Light Test Switch from ESP

E

SP’s Duceri emergency light test switches are designed to test batteries, lamps and duration function of

emergency lighting luminaires in accordance with current emergency lighting standard BS5266. They will help building owners and responsible persons to maintain compliance. These automatic, key-operated emergency lighting test

switches are permanently wired to the emergency luminaire supply. The key switch is used to interrupt the supply for a pre-programmed period of time. At the end of that period, the supply to the luminaries is automatically reinstated, so there’s no risk of depleting the batteries in the emergency fitting by leaving them connected for prolonged periods. There are two models to choose from - standard LED

display or countdown digital display. They each feature four pre-programmed test intervals – 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 180 minutes. They are compact in design – measuring 86 x 86 x

33mm – and they are manufactured from the antimicrobial material urea formaldehyde.

1.3kW quarter brick with digital control for datacentre and communications network equipment

BDQ1300 is designed to provide the highest efficiency (over 97%) on-board 12V output with optional digital control. It can accept an input voltage range of 40 ~ 60 V, making it ideal for data centre and communications network equipment. “The BDQ1300 has been designed to primarily support two power conversion architectures”, according to the company Technical Marketing Director, Andy Brown, he also quotes “Either the conventional and widely used ‘two-stage’ conversion architecture network, where the BDQ1300 only provides power to non- isolated, 12V input point-of-load converters such as Artesyn’s LGA80D or LGA50D families; or the module can also be used to support a hybrid conversion architecture. This is where some of the application’s power is converted with 48 V to low-voltage ‘direct conversion’ products” The four-pin (length 4.6mm) PMBus header provides standard PMBus control and is responsible for monitoring functions such as voltage, current monitoring, start-up, shutdown control, protection feature warning, shutdown limits, temperature monitoring and revision-control information.

Unicrimp expands

fire-rated products range U

nicrimp, part of the Scolmore Group of companies, has extended its Q-Fire range of fire-rated products to

include new metal fire safe cable clips in two additional sizes – 40mm and 50mm. As well as enhancing the existing range, the new products will meet the increasing demand from customers asking for these particular sizes to assist with a range of installations that they are working on.

Designed for use when fixing cables down in 40mm and

50mm trunking, the fire-rated cable clips - with a pre- drilled 6mm hole in the base - are made from annealed steel and provide installers with a solution to help satisfy the latest IET wiring Regulations 18th Edition. The use of metal fixings can help prevent some of the

increased risks associated with the breakout of a fire, for example preventing the premature collapse of wiring. With the Unicrimp range of fire-rated cable clips, construction site managers, electricians and electrical contractors can all be assured that the products they are specifying and installing meet the requirements of the latest 18th Edition wiring regulations.
