Exeter says that its wellbeing service is proactive in providing support and advice through events, activities and resources, with the aim of helping its students build their mental resilience, and get the help they need throughout their time at the university. This includes counselling, cognitive-behaviour therapy, support through crisis wellbeing fairs, workshops, drop-in sessions and awareness campaigns. If you have such a range available, you can try different resources and find the one that best fits you. “Our students’ mental health and wellbeing has long been a priority, to enable all our students to thrive and get the best out of their time with us,” says Mark. “Good health and wellbeing is essential to study and learn effectively. So supporting students’ wellbeing runs through everything we do.” The University of Exeter also offers a free and accessible wellbeing support service that provides early intervention when students find they’re struggling, and which provides support from specialists and other services such as the NHS, when appropriate.
