You’ll find an apprenticeship for virtually any sector... there’s more than one route to highly professional, skilled and in-demand occupations

Higher apprenticeships This apprenticeship leads to a Level 4 or above qualification,

which is the equivalent of a higher education qualification (for context, the AS and A levels are Level 3). Some Level 4 qualifications include: Certificate of Higher Education Key Skills Level 4 NVQ Level 4

BTEC professional award, certificate and diploma at Level 4

HNC A higher apprenticeship also involves both on- and off-the-job training but

they are designed to develop the your skills and qualifications to the highest standard. In some cases, they offer another (although sometimes longer) route to gaining a university qualification, such as a degree apprenticeship. Again, it’s a really unique opportunity for you to ‘earn while you learn’. Because higher apprenticeships are the top level of this format, there are

fewer places on this kind of scheme available than there are on the intermediate and advanced apprenticeship level. However, an increasing number of companies are starting to offer them as a route to coming on board, particularly since school leavers and their parents are identifying the programme as a way to gain qualifications without incurring the high cost of university.

Modern apprenticeships: the reality Today, companies actively seek out suitable candidates for apprenticeships

precisely because they wish to welcome your talent into the workforce. As an apprentice you stand a good chance of a full-time, fully paid employment
