INTERVIEW
FOCUSED ON A CLEANER AND BRIGHTER FUTURE
WITH
STÉPHANE BUSSA CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER, LASEA GROUP
LASEA was founded in Liège in 1999 with a view to making the world a cleaner and safer place. Over the last decades, the organisation has developed into a large worldwide group with growth around 30% per year for the past 12 years. This growth was achieved by a combination of organic growth coupled with strategic mergers and acquisitions. Currently the company has around 180 employees and a turnover of EURO 40 million, with subsidiaries in Switzerland and US. Three years ago, LASEA acquired well-established French laser supplier Laser Cheval (now 50 years old), and five years ago, the Belgian laser machine maker Optec, known for UV excimer and ultrashort pulsed lasers.

From the start, the company has developed innovative system designs featuring ultra-high precision laser processing. There are now four business units, two in Belgium and two in France. An optical modules factory was opened in Bordeaux in 2012. These modules make the company very well vertically integrated, as well as offering a product line to offer to other laser specialist companies.
