ASHA’s website goes more in-depth of the PAC’s current advocacy programs, focusing efforts on Medical expense deduction, funding of Alzheimer’s research, health care delivery, and addressing the workforce shortage in senior living, amongst other issues.

But advocacy programs aren’t ASHA’s only focus.

They also head Where You Live Matters, an online senior living resource home to community evaluation resources, move-in checklists, pricing FAQs, and other material to help educate those on how to secure a safe future in senior care.

Where You Live Matters started as a way to “empower older adults and their families to really better understand their options.” Schless describes the initiative as more of a public service, filling a literal information gap in the industry.

Between the PAC and Where You Live Matters, David Schless and ASHA continue to work towards their missions of advancing interests in senior housing and making sure the industry has a permanent voice in the nation’s capital.

In Episode 207 of the BTG Podcast, David Schless, President of ASHA Living, discusses research focus in 2022, advocacy programming and new consumer education efforts being made through the Where You Live Matters initiative.
