Norman (71) has a lifelong in terest in astronomy, design ing and constructing part of the Pendle Valley Observatory complex in Sabden, which is part of a project which is pri marily engaged in the search for extra-terrestrial intelli gence. Four years ago, Norman

decided to put pen to paper and wrote “The Alien” which was intended orginally for his eyes only. “The Alien” begins in Rus

sia in the turbulent 1960s with the launch of a probe to Venus which is found 150 years later in deep space by two aliens and they return it to a ravaged earth. / “A long-standing friend

asked to read it and, having read the story, my friend badg ered me to write a follow-up,” said Norman, who lives in Sab-, den. •

- Norman then wrote “Ret-

. ribution”, which is set in the 22nd Century and is a story of birth, death, love, comrade ship and intrigue. “Having enjoyed reading ‘Retribution’ my friend ca

joled me into writing yet a . third story which I called ‘The Lazarus Project.’ “I had no intention of let

ting anyone else read the sto- • ries and the thought of having them published had never en tered my head. “My friend, however, said

that there would be a number of people who would enjoy reading an original sci-fi sto

ry.” Norman decided to go

down the self-publishing route and now his three sto ries “The Alie”, “Retribution", and “The Lazarus Project” can be found on Amazon/Kindle bookstore.
