Staff from the Clitheroe branch of Savills, incorporat ing Smiths Gore, have taken up the Countryside Learning Challenge with their colleagues from across the country, helping raise almost £60,000 for charity along the way. Staff from Darlington, Clitheroe, Carlisle, Corbridge and Wooler covered more than 6,750 miles across northern parts of the UK via non-motorised means, which included walking and cycling. thest distance throughout the course of the week. The route tookthe team from castles to countryside, pass ing through a number of estates managed by the business
alongtheway. The Carlisle and Clitheroe teams joined forces for a 19-mile walk around Bassenthwaite Lake, one of the largest bodies
of water in the Lake District. The event culminated in teams from across the country cy cling into London to meet at Savills headquarters in Margaret Street.
Christmas tree festival
A church in Whalley is to stage its first Christmas tree festi-
val.StMaryandAllSaintsChurchwillstagetheeventfrbm
Thursday to Saturday, December 3rd to 6th. Several trees will be displayedby local charities to raise money. There will be daily musical performances and a songs of praise service
on the Sunday.
An invitation to get Charity quiz night crafty at hall fair at the cricket club
A variety of crafts will be on display at Slaidburn Village Hall on Sunday, November 8th. The craft fair will run from 10am to 4pm and there will be tea, coffee and home made cakes on sale during the event.
Clitheroe Cricket Club will host a quiz night tomorrow (Friday) from
