Community Church on Sunday was the Rev. Don Johnson talking about passages of Scrip­ ture and their relevance to personal understand­ ing today. A fellowship followed and coffee was served.


The speaker for next Sunday will also be the Rev. Johnson who will be talking on Baptism and its relevance, and, a member of the church vyill be taking a personal and spiritual Baptism by profession of faith. All members of society, church and non-church, are equally invited to share with us. The Bap­ tism service will be fol­ lowed by an act of open table communion.


The Thursday lunch Ex­ perience will be today starting at 11-30 a.m. - 1-30 p.m. followed by the experience. All are welcome. There will be no Thursday lunch ex­ perience the following week June 7th.


• UK There were 11 girls and 10 leaders in the group, of which six came from the Ribble Valley. As Gibraltar is only a small country they have chosen to still belong to Girlguiding UK so they wear the same uniforms and run the same pro­ gramme as the UK Part of the girls’ experience was to do some commu­ nity work so they spent the day at an animal rescue centre clean­ ing out and feeding the animals. They visited a Guide Group who were having a fund-raising day and were surprised to find them doing the same things as at home, face painting, book stall and bric-a-brac stall, etc. They had a day interact­ ing with the Gibtaltar- ian Guides and ali-in-all their trip was a veiy suc­ cessful and enjoyable experience for all the girls.
