Super slimmer Dave is now a flab fight leader

MEET Dave Alexander - he is the new consultant for the Slimming World group which meets at ClitKeroe Cricket Club. Dave (53), who himself


has lost more thap five stone ^ in weight, had found his


weight and size for the past 24' years fluctuate after he stopped • playing rugby and retired from the police force.


- He was not paying much at­


tention to what he was eating and missing out on regular exercise from playing rugby. He then broke his heel and this resulted in more and rnore weight piling on and he felt tru-


ly miserable and embarrassed,


as this was the heaviest he had ever been. On top of that Dave’s health


was suffering. He was constant­ ly perspiring, found himself Out of breath just doing simple


■ tasks like getting dressed arid even struggled to cut his own toe nails let alone tie his own shoelaces.

The turning point came when Dave was on holiday in Aus-

CONSERVATORY firm Ul­ traframe has won a national award for its health and safety performance. At the G-awards - the glazing in­


dustry “Oscars” - Clitheroe’s Ultra- frame took first prize for the Health and Safety Initiative of the Year. The company fought off stiff


competition from other interna­ tional businesses, but the wide­ spread effort of all employees was duly recognised by the judges, who are esteemed magazine editors and industry experts.


The company-wide effort was


spearheaded by local woman and long-standing employee Lindsey Gamer Clarkson. Lindsey started with Ultraframe


straight from school and via posts in inarketing, training and administra­ tion has worked hard to achieve the post o f company-wide health and safety advisor.
