"Shadows Tall", BBC Radio 2 presenter Mike Harding wrote: "From the moment that I i|rst heard them I ' ^evy that Siobhan and Jeana vyere, the pure drop, the real thing. Their vocals are rich and resonant, thir understanding of and feel for the music profound. Added to that they are damn fine musicians and can hoof it a bit too!"^ Their Mellor

Brook show, which starts at 8 p.m., will get under way with a 30-minute; set from singer and melodeon maestro Paul Russell, from Preston. Tickets cost just :

£10 from the : Britannia Gallery,; in Branch Road,-.: Mellor Brook, or reserve them by phoning Janet on 07791 558554. - The community centre has a , licensed bar which will be dispensing a traditional real ale, red and white wine (by the glass or by the bottle), lager > and a selection of soft drinks.

Owen Phillips said: "We will stick to 5hak«peare's text, but Romeo and Juliet will be presented in a modern way, set during the London riots. "Romeo and Juliet confronts each

generation with its passion and force and the context fits well with what

happened in the capital last year." Through the hate of warring

factions, in defiance of their families and in secrecy from their closest friends, a young couple risk all they have to be together in one of 5hakespeare's most thrilling and popular plays. "There's a lot of tension, and

we will be telling the story in an accessible manner, with, for example, the wam'ng Montague and Capulet supporters represented by the rioters (Montague) and the Police (Capulets). He added: "We take pride in our

work being powerful, real and challenging often using true to life experiences to portray drama. "There will be a few surprises

for the audience and we are really excited about the project." Romeo and juliet: Tuesday,

Wednesday and 5aturday, April 24th, 25th and 28th. (£12 and £6).
