obligations. On the other hand, for every reason you have for staying in your job, you could probably think of a reason for leaving, ranging from a lack of job satisfaction, a difficult commute or insuf ficient financial rewards. The list goes on Before you do bite the bullet, there are a
many reasons why people stay in their security to financial
O
ne of the scariest decisions in your life you are likely to make is a career change. There are so
few things worth considering. An honest, soul searching session is in order along with the good old "Pros and Cons" list. I say "honest" because it is so easy to ignore alarm bells that come up when you are doing your research. Better to scrutinise every aspect of your deci sion, than to hope everything will work out al
right in the end - you don't want any surprises further down the line. So, what kind of questions should you con sider? First and foremost, why exactly do you
want to leave and would a change solve these issues? Ask yourself: • What do I really want to do and is this type
of work available in my area? • Is there something that i realiy enjoy do-
_ ing that couid be transferred into a new job? • Will i be better off financially? • Would I need additional training or quali
fications? SO As well as asking yourself these questions,
it might be worth discussing these points with someone who knows you weii, someone who wouid give you an honest opinion (even if the feedback is not what you want to hear!) The message is - Research! Before you even think about ieaving a job, you need to know that there is definiteiy a market out there for you. Depending on how long you have been in
your current job, the recruitment process may weil have evolved considerably. In addition to this, the East Lancashire job market is as competitive as ever. Your job hunting tools
will need to be up-to-date and as varied as possible. The main tooi in your job hunting kit is a CV,
and you wiil need to know about four different types of letter. Interview techniques is another area that has undergone some changes over the years, from your standard one-to-one interviews to group interviews and telephone conferencing. To start you off, here are some basic tips to get a CV started.

is excellent, the views south and west mr reaching and when 1 was up there the hang- gliders and traditional gliders were decora ing the skies with their bright colours. "Sadly. I saw little wildlife, which is
unusual, as this is a relatively new and large area of open access land, which should e encouraging more native species of bir

showcase this special mile but enjoy th remainder without it seeming too much like
a secondary act.
