Watch, which aims to raise awareness about security and safety issues. PCSO Bioletti said: “With the showing
season already under way, it is a good time to remind horse owners to check on the se curity of their tack, stables and vehicles. A lot can be done to deter thieves and to keep valuable equestrian equipment safe. “Don’t forget to keep tack and equipment
secure when you are at shows and events. Lock your vehicle and put ramps up, even if you are only away for minutes. Take a wheel clamp with you to secure your trailer, mark your vehicle with a post code and have an
immobiliser and/or alarm fitted. Never leave tack in a vehicle overnight and ensure it is
parked under lights or automatic intruder security lighting. “Keep your stable yard secure by fitting
locks and security devices and ensuring that everyone locks up and activates devices. Be vigilant and keep valuables in a locked tack room. Keep wheelbarrows out of sight and locked away - they provide a good form of transport for thieves.”
