A life in tatters after child porn offences

A FORMER deputy head at Clitheroe Royal Grammar School has been placed on three years’ supervision for child por­ nography offences. Arthur Ian Lawson was found


to have accessed almost 150 inde­ cent images of children after police searched his home and took away two computers for examination. The 49-year-old, of Barnacre


Road, Longridge, who has since re­ signed from his job, pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court to eight charges of possessing indecent pho­ tographs of children. An investigation showed that searches had been made on the


internet relating to titles such as “English schoolboys in school uni­ form” and “schoolboy spanking”. He was arrested in March last year. Miss Kath Johnson (prosecuting)


said the defendant had accessed 146 images at level one, the least serious category. He had also ac­ cessed one at level four and one at level five. A number of images had been


discovered relating to young adult child pom. Miss Johnson told the court; “A


large number of the images were set in a school setting, a gym or chang­ ing room scenario. The Crown ac­ cepts that it was impossible to age a large number of the items.” When first interviewed in March and April last year, Lawson denied
